There were rumors here by alleged insiders that 10 years is what he wanted from LSU and we said no. Absolutely don't blame FSU for being fed up. 9 win seasons just aren't that hard to come by lol. Saban ego with Lou Holtz results as one of your fans said

That 10 year thing is why he isn't the head coach at LSU right now. Same exact numbers were put out last year in the negotiation's with LSU except the buyout is larger now. I'm not a fan of Alleva but he deserves credit for turning that down. Only Saban and a guy at his career program like Patterson has "earned" the right to ask for a 10 year deal. That's absurd.

Good luck Aggies. Hope it works better than the Chavis coup you guys were so proud of.

Well you’ve very publicly stated Fisher would never be the hire; no need to start worrying about the truth now.

Link?

I thought from the get go he would bail this house round after the turmoil in Tallahassee..

No troll... If you guys signed him for 10years, your administration is worse than ours and that is saying a hell of a lot.

A large part of what killed the deal for Jimbo to LSU was the length of the contract, not the money.

Frick these naysayers. You want a good coach, don't go into the deal with one foot out. He's an upgrade to nearly every program out there

Not really. I mean unless Jameis is going back to college for his final year of eligibility with him. He has a ton of personal baggage and hasn’t particularly done anything noteworthy without Jameis Winston who is literally a prototype for his offense. Sumlin did very well with a Heisman winner and look how his career turned out.

Jimbo was a good hire on paper, but let’s see the results before we pretend that paying a guy like him $75MM over 10 years was a foolproof, fantastic, amazing idea that every school would be lucky to pull off. If this doesn’t work out it’s going to severely frick up A&M’s program for a very long time, and I don’t think he’s worth that kind of gamble at all. Could be wrong, but then again I called how Chavis was going to turn out while A&M fans were explaining how scared everyone was of him and how great that was going to turn out when he never had a snowball’s chance in hell of succeeding there if you really dove into his numbers and his philosophy and the type of personnel he needed to effectively run his defense.

Seems crazy - that's a Saban-esque deal. Of course, Sexton reps Jimbo and will maximize the extraction of money from desperate schools.

And Saban along with all Jimmy Sexton clients will get automatic raises based on requirements to be highest paid (in Saban's case) and ranked in Top Nth,etc. for the rest of his clients. Sexton putting in work and collecting his 40%. Plus he is still driving up Tennessee.

It’s less than Tennessee offered gundy, and it’s less than michigan is throwing g away for harbaugh. It’s basically Dabo money.

Because that’s how real life works out and all good luck with that bud. I’m sure y’all can just sign Saban for $300MM over 20 years if Jimbo doesn’t work out. Again, if this hire doesn’t work out then y’all will be absolutely fricked for about 15 years if not more. Maybe the massive overinflated ego over a relatively mediocre and incredibly high risk investment has been the problem with A&M since 1938? Just some food for thought
