I meant to post this last night but it works fine now.

If Jimbo is not named the A&M coach by midnight tonight, does it ever happen?

FSU still has a regular season game this weekend. Announcement will come after the game.

Wouldnt he coach the team this weekend first? If he isnt named the coach by this time next week I'd be shocked.

There's too much smoke.

He is leaving and going to A&M after this weekend.

The earliest he could sign is Friday, 72 hours after the Board of Regents met to officially open the job.

The reports all suggest it will happen after the make-up game. I won't be convinced until the contract is signed and he's on campus. We've all seen this act before.

A make-up game vs UL-Monroe that would be meaningless for Jimbo if he were planning to leave because he wouldn't be around to coach the bowl game.... assuming FSU beats ULM to become bowl eligible.

If he was really leaving, he'd be getting his arse to College Station ASAP for recruiting, especially with the new early signing period that's only 3 weeks away.

As an LSU fan, I wouldn't like to see Jimbo at A&M. Not because I would be fearful of him, but because I know he deserves more respect than that. He's better than A&M and honestly I'd be a bit puzzled at why he chose to turn down LSU but take A&M's offer.

I'm glad he's not our coach now but it would still be puzzling to me. Puzzling in a "I feel sorry for him" kind of way.

I really don't think he takes the job.

It looks a whole lot better on your record if you can say you've never had a losing season.

If he coaches Saturday, he's never had a losing record.

Well because LSU had a moronic AD who decided to keep Les in 2015 because they stomped a crap Aggie team in the finale and then last year the "optics" of spending a bunch of money on a coach due to the budget crisis heavily impacted.

He would have come to LSU two years ago if we had an AD with some sort of nutsack. From what I can tell FSU hasn't delivered on things needed to help further the program. A&M will provide that for him (LSU would have too).

Turned them down because of how Joe Alleva and F. King completely botched their handling the Miles/Jimbo situation at the end of 2015 season

When is the last time a college coach quit to take another job when he still had a regular season game left?

None that I can think of, but I also don't remember any regular season games being rescheduled to take place a week after the season was supposed to end.
