Well, they may not be in this case (the pressure from Franklin may rush Shoop into a decision one way or the other in the next few days), but it could be possible that Franklin could be pissed and Shoop's interest could carry over into next week. And it could be possible that Franklin was not pissed but Shoop would decline by the end of this week.
As I understood it, Franklin gave Shoop an "ultimatum" of sorts.

Hmm, I didn't read it that way, but only because that would be a bad play on Franklin's part. "What you are doing is pissing me off. You have 3 days to decide whether you want to stay here or go make more money at a better program. Or else..."
I'm not sure what the or else would precede.

That would be a toothless threat. They gonna fire him if he doesn't? No

To be fair, Franklin may have asked for a quick decision one way or the other so he can get a new DC in the fold ASAP (recruiting and all that) if need be.

That's more of what I mean. Like a "Please figure this out this week because you're going to put me in a bind" kind of thing.
Not a "either go with them this week or your stuck with us forever/fired".

reading it again, yeah, it sounds like if LSU let's the decision linger through the weekend, then Shoop will pull out [rapey PSU joke here].

What is "this"? Shoop at Penn? LSU courting him? The interview? Sony? North Korea? Kim Jong Un?
Kim gonna hack Penn State?

It's a letter off but here's something to help ole Shoopy deal with that mean Franklin:
HANG ON SL/HOOPY
(it's worth watching for the chick dancing in the video if nothing else).

..No Class. Franklin bolted from Vandy out-of-the blue just before NSD , took half the recruiting class , and talked Shoop into going with him . OK if he does it , right ? He can "move up" , but his assistants cannot make a move they see as beneficial with much more $$ ( perhaps more $$ , PSU may make a counter ... ) Thats weak. C'mon , man ...
