You can't be pissed at Miles if he leaves. Not many people get to coach at a big name school that is also where they once played.
Also, I am agreeing with you. Just pointing out that there would be no reason to be mad at Miles to others.

Also, what were the "circumstances" in 2007?
The story I heard was that your AD demanded Miles either sign a new contract, or else he couldnt coach the CCG. This was the day the Herbie report hit saying Miles was hired by Michigan.
He then marched him out to the presser.
According to some Miles tried to reach our old AD Martin to find out if job was his, only to find he could not reach him. He was out "sailing".
Thus since he didnt know if he actually had a job, and he wanted to coach the team, he did so.
No clue how true it is....but is reasonable.

In other news, Jim Harbaugh has interviewed with every NFL team...

Im telling you Michigan and Miles agreed with something and its just too quiet.
Think about it if Michigan wanted Hoke, wouldn't you think he would already be signed.
LSU rolls tomorrow night sending out Miles to Michigan in fashion.
And if I were to take a guess, not many of the players would be upset and they would understand because Miles is a standup kind of guy and would be truthful with his players and inform them of the decision.
Im just saying... Its tooooooo quiet.
Its more than likely quiet because Michigan has nothing in place as of yet.

You don't hire a coach from across America one day after you just fired your head coach. These things do take a few days to handle and sometimes a week or two or more. Rich Rod just got fired yesterday nothing happens that fast.

This.
And their plans for the future most certainly don't include Miles.
They banked on JH, and lost. They're making sure they get it right this time.

Yep. One of the quicker hires in recent memory was Muschamp to UF, and that took 3-4 days.

I hope you are right... I just have the suspicion our President Mary Sue Coleman and Lloyd Carr wanted nothing to do with either JH or LM. I think those 2 are why Martin could not be reached back in 07 due to "sailing".
He's not. Miles stays at LSU. Carr and his underlings behind the "done deal Miles to Michigan" back in 2007 just hours before the SECCG had the potential to hurt Miles' young men, his team. Carr's willingness to do that likely severed the Michigan connection for Miles.
I doubt he's forgotten in three years. Why would he want to step into the hot mess of internal AD politics at Michigan? He wouldn't, even going home isn't worth that.
Like he said, he's been on the hot seat with LSU fans ever since the day he arrived in Baton Rouge. He deals with it. Dealing with a segment of "you can never please us" fans is way easier than dealing with continual internal AD/alum struggles and back-biting at Michigan. At LSU Miles gets the support of the AD/administration.
He's going nowhere. The only one shipping out after the game tomorrow eve is Crowton, methinks.

Yeah, If I follow his logic correctly, I think he believes there is a deal in place precisely because there is absolutely no evidence of it.
BRILLIANT!!!

Miles and Michigan probably told ESPN they will text Herbie with some info on Saturday morning if they leave Miles alone until then

This doesn't make sense to me. If I'm Herbie and somebody told me that, I'd know the fix was in and report it as a strong rumor immediately. Think about it: if Miles isn't going, what is he going to text Herbie on Saturday?

Actually, if I had to guess, with Miami apparently falling through, I'd say DB ultimately gets Harbaugh.
