Itd be cool if we went after someone that has succeeded as a DC.

It should be a prerequisite for this job imo. I do t understand paying top 5 DC money and not attracting a good candidate

We’ve attracted plenty of good candidates. Freeman was interested but ultimately turned it down.

Nielsen was interested but got blocked and offered a promotion to sweeten the relationship with the saints.

Arnette was interested in us but we weren’t interested in him after he flunked the interview.

O and Woodward are being picky and they should be considering it’s one of the best coordinator jobs in the country.

There’s no reason not to take your time

Nah man this is LSU. This is where you get a chance to try new things. Not like our backs are against the wall or anything.

The funny part is, everybody melted at the thought of an INTERVIEW with Mason...."frick No, we don't want no RETREAD. Vandy's defense sucked"... Yada yada yada. All the big names have other plans. Besides, its just an interview. If he kills it with the whiteboard, go for it. Or, it may be a smoke screen.

I do. O is a clown and nobody wants to work for him. And why should they? He has no fricking clue what he’s doing. Dude hired Pelini without interviewing. Made the TE coach his OC because he couldn’t be bothered to make an actual hire. He’s making shite up as he goes along and I don’t blame these real up-and-comers for not wanting to tie their career hopes to that guy. I sure as shite wouldn’t want to do that.

You will get downvoted, but sadly I agree.

How else do you explain the Canada & Pelini fiascos. Then having to clean house 1 year after a National Championship. It’s pretty pathetic.

Same argument I’ve been making. These bunch of bozos think this is completely by chance we can’t land anyone reputable or established. At least with some upward swing.

No. All by chance according to them.

It’s just like any promotion on a job man. How many position coaches have you seen turn DC in the nfl the last few days ? At least 5-6

I wish O would get his head out of the NFL. Yeah sometimes that works and Peetz seems like a good hire, but it seems like NFL guys dont work out a lot of the time when they come to down to CFB. I'd rather go after a young and upcoming dc from the AAC/Sun belt/etc

Personally, I don't care if they are a proven DC like Marcus Freeman or someone who like Ryan Nielsen was infinitely qualified.

It's so funny you say this yet You were super sign me up for Ryan Nielsen.

not even saying Nielsen would have been a bad coach but that's pretty contradicting I must say.
