I'd be fine with Aranda, but it's certainly not a "big" hire.
That said, I'd just love to hear all the Baylor fans bitch here about us stealing their best coaches.

It will not be Aranda. Scott will not put this football program in the hands of an inexperienced head coach. Be smart.

NO!! Unproven as a head coach and unknown as a recruiter! I actually knew him personally when he was here and liked him very much but he is proven as a DC…. Not yet as a head coach. Too much of a risk!

Arnada has been my first choice. He's not going to give LSU the WWE hype that many on this board want. But I do believe Aranda will build a championship program and under Aranda LSU will never have program embarrassing moments or fending off NCAA violations.

Seems to me that there have been quite a few big name coaches that had HC experience that didn't set the world on fire (Herman, Fisher). Meanwhile a team that took an SEC-trained coordinator with no head coaching experience (Smart) seems like the favorite to win it all this year.
I'm not saying HC experience isn't important, but it isn't an absolute necessity. Even so, Aranda has some experience as HC.
