What i heard coach "O" say was that other team coaches will try to come after him. O says will do what it takes to keep him.

He said he talked to him this morning, and both "he and I are happy".

He could have just told O and Alleva what they wanted to hear. he could be on the phone with Herman as we speak

frick you people are miserable. It's like you want bad things to happen to prove how "right" you are.

Especially since it seems that that the entire O hire was based on a wing and a prayer plan for O assembling the best staff in college football. If Aranda leaves, the first domino falls.

This is what hasn't upset me from the jump. These are real possibilities to be considered during this search. We've demonstrated that we are no longer a professionally run program. We are a political machine that promotes based on who you know, not what you know.

Aranda is a pro and a huge part of why orgeron won with this team.

Would be the same situation if Kiffin were to come, which is why it will never happen

Dude, I am simply going off of what I heard. If he can retain Aranda I will be very happy. Even happier if he gets Kiffin.

I'm looking for something to be positive over, but his remarks regarding Aranda came across as a work in progress as opposed to a done deal.

Yes. You nail it. Everyone is comfortable with Coach O while Aranda is DC and we have an elite defense. Alleva has not taken the necessary steps to make sure we have that. We simply have O as the HC. Picture this team - Coach O as HC, Ensminger as OC and someone like Steele as DC. That's just as likely a scenario. Are you comfortable with that staff? Shouldn't Alleva ensure we do not have that sort of staff before he names O as coach? Alleva's actions are indefensible.

If Aranda leaves and Alleva still has a job 7 days later I'm done with LSU

Aranda should have been undoubtedly locked down before naming O. He could have waited until Monday to either keep liens open with Herman or give Aranda a deserved raise.

the "boss" part was more a symbolic statement Aranda is about to be under the command of a much less intelligent and vastly inferior coach. i can only wait to see how this unfolds when there is a disagreement in a tense game situation

You are giving Miles wayyyyyyy too much credit. O mopped the floor with him with this team. I liked Miles, and I didn't want O hired, but this is objectively true.

As for Aranda, no one knows shite. It's all just guessing games.

I agree. If Aranda wants to be a head coach, you don't go to the Big-12. who is the last DC from the Big-12 to become a head coach
