Tennessee has their issues but they aren't cheap and they are in a growing state. Oklahoma has more tradition but part of Lincoln Riley's gripe is they don't have the facilities to compete in the SEC and the OU administration wouldn't build such facilities. Among current SEC jobs is Tennessee equivalent to OU? If not, which job is better and why?

OU is a better job because Tennessee is stuck in the rinse and repeat of coaching hire i.e. Tennessee, Florida, Texas and Texas A&M.

LSU is on the verge of entering that group, I know LSU is different.

Alabama, Georgia and LSU are better jobs than Oklahoma, maybe Florida too. They are just in more fertile recruiting areas. A&M could be up there too if they ever get their act together.

UT is a harder job, that's for certain. Reality, is they are pretty even as programs, but UT has the tougher schedule.

I'd rather live in Knoxville, as would my family. Assuming they pay the same, I'd go with UT.

If OU had been in the SEC the last 20-30 years they might be in the same state. OU has been a cushy job because they were in a terrible conference and Texas and Nebraska fell off.

LSU needs to rinse a lot to clean up after the clown we just fired. He absolutely has crushed the program. I didn’t think it was possible to top Curley but he did it.

Tennessee is probably a pretty good comparison. They are both in areas where they have to recruit a lot out of state but have good tradition, resources, facilities etc.

Lsu isn't a total rebuild job. I don't think we'll compete for the West in 2022 but I think we can by 2023 with the right HC and QB.

I think they are pretty comparable. Both good jobs, but (once OU joins the SEC) not easy. Neither can rely solely on in-state talent. Norman is a nice town that is virtually a suburb of OKC, which is a pretty nice growing city. Knoxville is a nice mid-sized city. I do think the biggest differentiator between the two may be their willingness to spend money. OU was too cheap to pay Riley. I can't imagine that having to buy their way out of the Big XII is going to help loosen the purse strings, in the short term.

LSU is on the verge of entering that group
LSU had their coach for 5 seasons and has only had three head coaches in two decades. Not sure how they can even be considered "on the verge".
