"On the rumors of defensive coordinator Bo Pelini interviewing with Nebraska…

“Bo Pelini has not traveled to any place. I have been with him everyday. The only thing that I can tell you is I don’t know what your information is and I don’t have a lot of information on it. I know that he is preparing our team for our season and the SEC Championship. I can also say that I would recommend Bo Pelini to any school. I think he is a quality coach and wonderful colleague. He is focused on the task at hand and I don’t think he would have it any other way.”

Didnt Nebraska confim they talked to Pelini?

Technically, Les is right. He didn't travel anywhere. He interviewed in BR.

Both
That's a total lie, just like when he said we were going to correct mistakes all season.

Look at his answer. It is VERY carefully stated. He said Pellini has not traveled anyplace. Supposedly, the interview was in BR (NU people flew into BR for the interview, then went to ATL to interview Gill). His response was to a question implying that Pellini had gone to Nebraska for the interview.

The answer given by Miles is entirely accurate.

Tom Osborne just stopped by Baton Rouge to get some Mike Anderson take-out and check out Big Fav at the Varsity.

Maybe he was at the interview during the presser.

He was asked SPECIFICALLY if Bo went to Nebraska. I believe he answered honestly because Nebraska supposedly came to him. I just do not understand why Miles is handling things this way.

Even ESPN reported that Pelini got on the NU plane and went to ATL. If that isnt true it's the biggest media F up since they called Florida for Gore in 2000.

Yes but Miles will say anything regardless to connection w/ reality:

e.g.

To Holly Rowe:
Oh we had time, we still had 18 seconds on the clock.

ON CS at KY:
KY took away our ability to run Scotts' packages. Why not just be honest and say, I only want Hester to recieve accolades?

On more carries for KW and CS questions:
Well we want to get those guys as many carries as possible. Really?

I could name more.

He is full of BS and obviously beleives we are dumber than he is.

And yes, Bo did interview and hopefully will be hired by Neb.

Maybe because he doesn't want to screw Pelini's chances at the job.

Because that's a stupid answer.

So he thinks we are stupid then..

The question was about him interviewing for the job not whether he traveled anywhere and Miles made up an answer to deflect the question. Why not just answer the damn question Nebraska confirmed they talked to him we know this so why not give it to us straight? I dont think Bo will be our DC for this weekend with the way nebraska is moving. Bo also probably knew they were flying in the next day to talk to him. Thats a distraction to his coaching staff and obviously Bo coached a horrible horrible game.

There was nothing wrong with that at all.

That's smart.

Because he may not want to screw Pelini's chances at the job.

I know you want and expect honesty and think you're entitled to it and that's fine, but it's not always the best policy when dealing with the media.

If it's been reported, why does he have to confirm it?

This is right. I heard the press conference yesterday on the radio. Miles was talking about how they were focussed on preparing the team for the next game, and the reporter asked about rumors that Pelini had flown to Nebraska to meet with them. Miles said that this was not true, because he has been with him, and Pelini hadn't gone anywhere. Miles was trying to make it clear that Pelini was in B.R. preparing a game plan as opposed to taking time away from the team to fly to Nebraska....He was being honest, and was not evasive at all. Anybody saying he was being "evasive" is simply trying to stir up shite.

Uh, ESPN and other media outlets reported Bo got on a plane to Atlanta. I trust them over some coachspeak.

Nebraska flew in to interview Bo, and then they boarded to ATL to meet Gill. They probably offered Bo HC and Gill OC.
