Plenty of projection in what follows, to be up front and transparent
Like Lane, Ed has been to plenty of places over the years; unlike Lane, Ed's last stop was as HC of his self professed dream job.
Hes no longer a young man; is it that crazy to think coaching as an assistant under a friend at a place he loves is a good way to end his career?

Yes. He’s went from assistant to interim head coach to head coach of a sec team, to fired, to assistant again, to head coach. So he’s shown in the past that he’s willing to swallow his pride and take a “lesser” position then he had in previous years.

It's time to reunite the Wild Boys.

He'll be getting paid close to a million and working with his friend. I believe he will be ok.

To work with Lane? Yes.

Yeah and when Kiffin gets fired, he will be the head coach again

It won’t matter. LK will stay at OM.

He will be there to wait in the shadows and stage another coup after a few bad seasons.

Ask anybody DTB that talks to him and they will tell you that if Kiffin takes the job he will be here as DL and Recruiter.

He had to do it when he went to play with Hebert after leaving LSU when he was a DL.

The man put together the GOAT team and make no mistake that was his team, he wasn’t handed a natty team like Larry Coker was…nothing can take that away he has both to be ashamed of…

Lee dropping the sauce that Bebe is coming back? Damn

It’s not like he hasn’t been a position coach for the bulk of his career. I feel like he’s kind of content with what he achieved in 2019 as a head coach. He’s probably low on money and seems to still genuinely love LSU and the fans still love him so why not finish his coaching days here. Makes complete sense to me.

I admittedly miss the “Born on the Bayou” blaring as he walks down Victory Hill.
