LSU is a sleeping giant in basketball. If you can chanel all the ballers from new orleans, BR, and Shreveport area and keep them in Louisiana you could have a great team. Our current coach hasnt figured out how to do that.

all i expect out of LSU is for us to consistently get to the tourney. TJ is about have three straight years of complete shittiness. pearl would at least put solid teams on the floor every year.

I think it is you who fails to understand the meaning.
An appearance where Pearl says can't talk about it does not equal rumor.
As for him liking LSU hell he is on a 3 year ban. Get him back on the show and ask him about ANY potential job.
Report back IF his answer is any different about any other school.

Any school that decides to hire him before his show cause is up will have to endure the following penalties:

Two years probation for hiring institution (to begin first day of employment).
No on campus or off campus recruiting from head coach through August 2014.
No on campus or off campus recruiting from any assistant coaches for one year (to begin first day of employment if hired before August 2013; expires August 2014).
Hiring institution must also go before NCAA Infraction Committee to determine further penalties in order to employ the head coach.

That is an NCAA mandate. If any school wants to hire him before August 2014, they have to accept all of those penalties, plus go before the Infractions Committee to determine further penalties. That's part of the show cause.

There are probably only 2-3 players from Louisiana in the last few years now that are SEC caliber players. That is not gonna cut if we really want to compete in this league.

Where did this come from?
I thought it would be just a sanction of his recruiting and recruiting contact. It appeared he would just have to have someone else recruit for him.
I haven't seen any other sanctions that would be imposed if another school necessarily hired him.
LSU sucks bad and needs someone who can make something out of LSU. LSU definitely has potential. Even if on recruiting sanctions it couldn't make LSU worse.

All penalties imposed on (or self imposed by) Tennessee are automatically transferred to Pearl's new school, along with the NCAA's punishment on Pearl himself. The school also has to deal with another Infraction Committee meeting, where the hiring school has to convince the NCAA not to punish them further for going against the NCAA's decision.

I think most of us understand his situation, well I hope we do, but like someone else said; we might not be any worse off in that time frame with those sanctions.
Ok, maybe a little worse off, but nobody gives a rats arse either way right now at LSU. It would certainly be a big splash hire that would generate excitement for the future.
