Heard this on the radio this morning here in Lafayette. The guy was saying that if UT or Notre Dame were to hire Les Miles, it would likely be with the idea that he is bringing Aranda with him as a package deal.

Considering the fact that LSU more than likely would lose a bidding war for Aranda against UT or Notre Dame, does Miles potentially being a candidate for either of those jobs concern you?

Personally, not sure why he would be a candidate for either. But, I would he concerned that he would try to pull Aranda away from LSU. How much would LSU pay him to stay, and how desperate would they be to keep him?

Another solid troll thread sir.

Aranda is not leaving LSU to follow Les Miles.

It's presumed that everybody on TD thinks Aranda is brilliant. Aranda has seen Les up-close. Is it possible to be brilliant and want to follow Les?

I guess the sense of loyalty is being weighed. Les gave Aranda a big chance and raise from UW and DA would be willing to return the favor.

Not trolling, dumbass. This was a thought presented on a sports radio show. Miles pulled Aranda away from Wisconsin. While there is nothing saying that Aranda, without a doubt, would follow Miles, there is nothing saying he wouldn't either.

You implying I've done this before? Or do you just think that anything suggesting Aranda leaves is a troll?

Miles hired Aranda for a position he was well qualified for. I dont think Aranda owes Miles anything or that there is some deep loyalty between the two.

I agree. The question is necessarily about Loyalty though. He coached with Miles (albeit for less than half of a season), so it's not unrealistic (or trolling) to think that Miles could try and pull him. If Miles went to a place like UT, there is no way LSU outbids UT if UT pulls out the checkbook.

I'm not saying Aranda would go out of loyalty to Miles. Just putting out the idea that was tossed out there by a talk show.

I think it's possible. How many DCs are better than Aranda? If you could have the best, wouldn't you go get him?

this crap is getting out of hand. there has been ZERO proof produced that Miles is actually a candidate for either job. some friggin' site produced odds based on what? imo, based on getting hits. why does this strategy fool people over and over and over again?

Sounds dumb. And even if it happened, would sound dumb.

He coached what, 4 games for miles? LSU is paying him nicely and will continue to do so. And we are not in the nearly the rebuild mode either of Those teams are in on the defensive side of the ball.

All points are invalid...

Aranda has zero alligence to miles

He just saw miles get fired mid year for not following through on offensive production. That's not a good thing when you are a DC.

LSU pays more for assistance than either UT or ND. We would not let them outbid for the best coordinator we've had on the last 15years

Those are strong words considering some of our past coordinators.
