Tim Albin - Ohio - Oklahoma native who's probably looking at the Tulsa job

Clay Helton at Ga Southern - I still think there's good value in Clay for a G4 upgrade

Tyson Helton - Clay's brother at WKU, same

Brent Key - it would have to be a big job for him to leave

Clark Lea - hard to figure

Shane Beamer - what if Virginia Tech opens up?

Names thrown out for everything = Sumrall at Tulane, Lashlee at SMU, Kiffin, Leipold and Matt Campbell

Jeff Traylor at UTSA would be a prospect at Okie State

Chadwell to UNC seems like a no brainer

Bill O'Brien - armchair QB's who think they know more than Nick Saban would LOL I guess

GJ Kinne at Texas State - bet he makes a move this year

Jason Candle at Toledo needs to make a move if a low level Big 10 opens

Colin Klien the OC at A&M could become a young HC this year

I wonder if Willie Fritz feels like he made a mistake taking the Houston job?

hell, I'd take Clay Helton at Arkansas

tell him he's not getting big money up front. He has to earn it. See what he says.

I have great respect for Houston from the past, don't get me wrong, but Fritz could have gotten a bigger job for his swansong

He’s in his 60s. I’m not sure he could’ve gotten a bigger job.

Plus his family (kids, grandkids) is in Houston.

The revenue distribution from TV ensures the Big 12 is plenty more than a “lateral move” from the AAC.

I could see him kicking around San Marcos until one of the P4 jobs in Texas opens. Tulsa is his alma mater but it’s not a better job than Texas State.
He’d be an obvious choice if Baylor or SMU come open in the next couple of years.

I knew both of those things, and those are good reasons

I just think one domino could fall and get Tulane rolling straight into the ACC

Yep!

No way he would go to Tulsa right now.

Baylor, SMU, TCU, etc, yes.

Same for Traylor

I hadn't even thought of the Okie State potential opening, but Traylor would be a perfect fit, imo.

If I'm one of those schools I'm hiring Jon Sumrall.

I know willie left Tulane in great shape but Sumrall is just a good coach.

Hopefully he stays at Tulane for another yr or two.

I have it on good authority that Sumrall will never coach at a school not named Tulane. He is happy with the food he can eat here and his kids loves Mardi Gras.

He has a wonderful parking spot and the school has spent serious money on his name plate to his office.

On top of all that Sumrall is clearly in over his head as a head coach. He could not shut out Charlotte or Temple. His defense is almost as bad as his office.

I have seen with my own two eyes him worshipping the devil and he has stated that given the chance he would throw a puppy (A CUTE ONE AT THAT) off a tall bridge.

I think schools should avoid hiring this obvious train wreck of a coach and let Tulane suffer with him.

There's more pressure on the coach in Statesboro, GA than in Tuscaloosa, AL.

GA Southern won four (1-AA/FCS) national championships in its first decade of football, and those folks think they should still be at that level in FBS.

There's a loud contingent wanting Helton fired even though they are in contention for the Sunbelt.

Fritz moved to Houston to be near his daughter, not for football.

Maybe he should have tried to get the Arkansas HC job.

Nobody wants drink or even mentions him, wonder why? He must really suck.

Maybe sunbelt material.

His wife was flying to Houston weekly or every other week.

Why would he turn down all power jobs (and also not leave right after the Cotton Bowl win) just to take the Houston job.......you know....the job in the city where his daughter lives. And that is not a knock at the University of Houston.

I feel like I have mentioned him the last couple of years on this board. I can't tell if he has been waiting for a certain job that hasn't called yet, or if he's simply content at Toledo (he has coached there for 15 years, and I think he has a young family now).

Toledo kind of shite the bed the back half of this season, so his stock may not be as high as it once was this go around.

What?! Why would Drinkwitz leave? He is building similar to what Gary Pinkel did and I believe he will be better than Pinkel. Drinkwitz is very close to his family and is also close to where he grew up. Mizzou is also a less pressure job and he is getting paid very well.
