That makes sense, as far as on the field or game situations. I guess I was thinking from more of an administrative stand point, but, I don't know how their chain of command was structured either, so, maybe I am wrong.

Actually, some on the board are smart enough to realize that this won't happen until the end of the season if merited. Others jump on stupid bandwagons of coaches who should not even be considered to be the HC of the LSU Tigers for no reason at all. Coach O has to prove he deserves it.

It has nothing to do with Les. I am not ready to hand it over to anyone at this moment. If O shows us he is the guy, it will be obvious. If not, we will find the guy. All you people wanting to hand it now or immediately say O isn't the guy are just ignorant.

answer me honestly. what has he done in his entire coaching career that warrants him being handed the keys to a top 5 head coaching gig.
is it him being a coonass?
is it him not being Les Miles?
is it him having offensive success against 3 defenses ranking in the 90s?
is it his whopping 1 career win against 10 win teams?
is it his zero years experience as even a coordinator on either side of the ball?
literally every other realistic candidate has him beat in everyone of those categories except being a coonass.
and if being a coonass is that important, there is a shite ton of posters here who meet that criteria who don't have a historically bad HC stop on their resumés.

It's pretty much his only HC exp on his resume. If he wants to mend it, he needs to go be a HC somewhere else first and show he can build a program and win. You don't get to just say a bad experience on your resume is better now because it was a long time ago. You have to pay your dues and fix it. He hasn't done that.

Then you're not paying attention. Most of the hard anti O guys I've seen seem to have been fire Les guys to me.
The wait until at least after the Bama game people seem to be a mix.
Most of the rabid pro O guys seem to have been fire Miles guys, too but generally are in one of 3 camps:1- Herman of bust, 2 - Jimbo or bust, or 3 - Chip Kelly or bust.
That's just my take on what I see. I was a Miles guy, but I tend to be an LSU's Current Head Coach Guy. As such I am leaning toward coach O but I do want to see the rest of the season before going all in for any coach.
