I'm starting to think the anti-O people were pro Les till the end

No other explanation for the stupidity of not wanting O

For fricks sake. We've beaten the worst team in the conference (Mizzou), Southern Miss, and a now 4-loss Ole Miss.
The posters that are ready to hand O the job for the next 5 years are just as stupid as the posters that would rule him out without discussion.

I wanted les fired 3 years ago. O is still a mediocre coach.

i'm not a miles guy and i think it's insane people are wanting to crown coach o.

Or the stupidity of being sold on a guy with a losing HC record over many other coaches with much better records.

Which part is stupid?
~Not wanting to hire a 19-27 coach
~Not going all in on a coach just because he talks like us
~Not handing him the job for beating teams with records of 2-5, 4-2 and 3-4

Because O has the best DC in the game. And the best player in college football with a somewhat decent OC and the adrenaline of a fired coach and a new regime. What happens when LF7 and DG5 are gone. What happens when Aranda is gone? What happens when when we need a new OC.
Under O, we will have great years but also awful years. There will be inconsistency.

You don't think O will blow away recruiting, retain Aranda, and hire a home run at OC?

The next four or five star RB O signs will be carrying the ball. We all know O can recruit so assuming the talent level at LSU will drop off is silly.

O hires another DC. Will that DC be as good as Aranda? Probably not but it will be a good coach. O knows coaching talent.

He hires a good OC.

retain Aranda

it will be interesting to see what the hc market is like for aranda. the good news is he is getting paid a shite load of money to coach at lsu. maybe we will keep him a few more years.

He had good coordinators and recruits st ole miss. How'd that go? He's not a head coach.
Posted on 10/23/16 at 12:32 pm to ipodking
Good head coaches train coordinators, not the other way around. No thanks.

Any good coach will blow away recruiting at LSU. LSU is willing to pay top 5 money, we're a top 5 program in the country. So why should LSU settle for the dl coach?

You think Les was training coordinators? We've had the village idiot for 12 seasons and squeezed a NC out of him...I think O will be fine

Was O not d-line coach and ASSISTANT HEAD COACH under Miles? I don't think that makes Aranda his boss.

quote:Nope. He had coordinators quitting.

quote:I'm not going to go all in on a coach because "I think he will be fine". If that's the case, anyone will be fine. I want a good coach. And no, I will not say that O is a good coach at this moment. I'm not even willing to say that he has much to do with what we see on the field other than motivating the players. Is that all it takes to be a HC here?

Look at what we've had for more than a decade

quote:He coordinates the defense which includes the DLine. If Aranda wants them to line up a certain way, they line up that way. He's responsible for what happens on the field and even O right now couldn't tell him different.
