I'm on the Josh Heupel/Alex Golesh train

Options after Kiffin:
If Heupel is getable, I would obviously rather him for his experience. If not, give me Golesh. I want an offensive head coach with a play sheet in his hand.
USF was 4-29 before he arrived. 21-15 since.
2021: Tennessee Offense 474 YPG (9th Nationally)
2022: Tennessee Offense 525 YPG (1st Nationally)
2023: USF Offense 451 YPG (17th Nationally)
2024: USF Offense 408 YPG (45th Nationally)
2025: USF Offense 492 YPG (4th Nationally)

Golesh is not getting enough love. I think he would kill it here.

im ok with golesh...but what makes him better than Dillingham?
dillingham has had great success as OC, been great rebuilding Arizona state taking to the playoffs in 2nd season and prolly going 9-3 this year...
has everything you mentioned....plus success at a P4 school.

That train is destined to crash. Heupel Train doesn't rhyme and Golesh Train doesn't either.
Obviously these won't work out.
Lane Train, baby!

That'd be dumb. Now if we hire fricking Drinkwitz or Sumrall, then I'll jump in with you.

Heupel was my 1B from the beginning but im not sure he would leave Tennessee. Dillingham would also been a great hire

Golesh is the next in the Napier/Harsin line.

No Heupel.
Golesh I could get behind. That North Texas coach and Arizona State coach I could also get behind.

Heupel offense is a gimmicky joke just look at how the NFL views his players and the dude does not have the personality to work here.
I would take the other 2 you mentioned in heartbeat before Heupel

Golesh runs the same offense as Huepel. He came from Tennessee for gods sake. It’s insane how ignorant some of you are

Would rather go with Eric Morris. He has an impressive list of QBs he’s coached up and I think he would do amazing here.

There's been rumblings about him this season from the locals. Obviously not as old, but I think it could be a Brian Kelly situation where he could be convinced to leave as opposed to a Dan Lanning or Kirby Smart.

His game management skills leave a lot to be desired.

it really is amazing how stupid some people on this board are
same guys who call it gimmicky offense will praise art briles offense, lanes offense etc when they are all off shoots of the veer and shoot that Art created /refined at stephenville hs. same offense that his son showed lane and that lane then tweaked. Heupel prolly runs the most pure version of the V&S still. but its not gimmicky. people said same shite about the spread for ages.
and im good with golesh although there are better options

Heupel would drive you nuts. His in-game decisions are maddening, including clock management.
Alex Golesh should be higher on the list than Kiffin. He is a madman, a great coach, and you would love him.

I can't see any reason where Kiffin is a better option than Heupel.
I still think we're better off going the coordinator route than Kiffin. I know we all want an offensive guy (Klein or Stein are my favorite of the playcallers) but Schumann seems to be the safest of the coordinator group. He's worked under 2 of the best program builders out there his entire career. There would be some question marks regarding how his defense would hold up without Kirby around. But they're also all a lot cheaper than Kiffin too and may allow us to spend more on the roster
