re: I'm of the opinion that Stoops leaves UK at the end of this season

without a solid QB, you can't win in the SEC.
What do you mean by win? Titles or 8-4 seasons? If it's the latter, LSU fans know you can win without a solid QB, but it isn't recommended for your blood pressure.

I wonder if Beamer bought him the sunglasses he is wearing.

I don't think Stoops will leave UK this year, but he should listen to Nebraska if they call.
At this point in time, I'm not sure Nebraska is a better job. At least not head and shoulders above UK or anyone in the SEC other than Vanderbilt.
It's been a LOOONG time (in football years) since Nebraska has been relevant, and as of now it seems like a destination where coaching careers go to die. Plus Nebraska has to recruit from very far away places for skill position talent, and those recruits weren't alive to remember Nebraska being a blueblood anymore.
The right coach at Nebraska could get it turned back around over several years, but that's the case with numerous programs out there. Their history as a blueblood is too far in the mirror to say that it helps that program with anything anymore, they might as well be any other Midwestern football program.

i wouldnt be surprised if he took nebraska honestly. if iowa opens, could see that.

I'm mentioned this on the rant, and other UK fans think I'm nuts.
I only think it's nuts because he has compared UK to Iowa (his Alma mater) for being patient with coaches. Most of the bigger jobs do not have patience, see: Nebraska, Auburn
He's safer at UK.
That said if he wants to win a championship he'll probably have to go elsewhere but some people don't seem to jump for bigger openings even taking that into account, see: Matt Campbell, Pat Fitzgerald(?), etc.

Leopold should be their #1 but Stoops at Nebraska would be really solid.

Nebraska absolutely has patience, Frost had 4 losing seasons and they let him start a 5th.
Harsin had 1.5 bad seasons at Auburn and they canned him.

2.5 and was last in the SEC in recruiting at Auburn. A place where there is more talent 1 hour from campus than 99.9% of schools in the country. And no one wants the tard Stoops. Dude has the #2 QB on Mel's board and looks completely lost. Losing the USCe at this point in his tenure is grounds to be fired.

Tbf #2 QB boy was out hurt for that game and our backup transferred right before the season started so we were just a wee bit thin at QB
But please tell me about how well Auburn has done without bo nix and how they are too good for Stoops
Coaching changes time and suddenly everyone is a UK and Stoops expert
Sad.

At this point in his career, he should have his roster set to weather these type events. And you can't honestly say he hasn't wasted WL talent.

He should have starting level talent at 3rd string? no kid that good is gonna sit there
He had a decent backup and he bailed.
So, we got the short end of stick, it happens. Stoops is still the winningest coach in UK history and has given us multiple seasons that are our best since the 70s, so no I would not say he is wasting talent. Nor would I say he is mismanaging the roster

I am glad you are happy. Please keep him.

I hope we do. My point was is he's not as bad as you were making him out to be

Mark Stoops has as many 10 win seasons in his 9 years at Kentucky as the entire program did before he showed up
Mark Stoops had 4 straight winning seasons before the Covid seasons- that had happened twice since Kentucky joined the SEC
He’s a good coach. Acting otherwise is dumb.

Mumme and Leach. It was hard to argue against a really high scoring team.

I would like Stoops at AU, but if not, I hope he stays at KY. People don't give him enough credit for winning there. He is a solid coach who runs a solid program.

Absolutely. And I don't think he necessarily leaves unless it's quite a bit bigger job (i.e. Ohio State, Michigan) or very personal (Iowa).
It's also going to depend on Barnhart getting his shite together with NIL. He's holding UK back with his tiptoeing shite. The NCAA has shown they have no teeth, time to go all in.
