If that is the case, then, he's a lock to be hired as LSU DC.

I mean, he didn’t get into Vanderbilt. He played at Northern Arizona.

He runs a different system as others have stated and his resume is overrated.

He did nothing at Vandy of note compared to his predecessor and took a team that was a perennial bowl team under Franklin and turned them into a dumpster fire.

His defenses at Stanford were overrated.

If not for the color of his skin, he is in no way being considered for this position.

He’s mediocre but let’s try to go even further and force a square peg into a round hole and switch defensive schemes again despite all our recruiting shifting back to a 4-3.

One other thing,the dude has run multiple fronts ,odd fronts, even fronts. Hes ran 3-3-5 4-3 3-4.
Hes well rounded enough to run whatever were best at

1) I said he’s being pushed for that reason by some not that he is utterly unqualified. He’s mediocre. That’s it.

2) agents get guys names out there. Board chatter means nothing.

I am not saying he’s a bad coach, but nothing from him including his overrated stint on the coaches panel in the NC game show anything special.

He’s proven very little and moved up quickly without much sustained history of success. His entire DC experience is 1 year at St. Mary and 3 years as Stanford’s DC with one as a Co-DC.

Stanford’s defense was top 10 the year before he took over as DC. He then proceeded to have them drop to 30 the next year followed by 11 and 10.

He didn’t improve them nor did they drop off the year after he left. Hell they went to #2 the year after he left.

He fact is he has not proven anything yet and has only led a defense in a 3-4. Just being a position coach on a team that ran otherwise didn’t mean he can scheme any of the others.

I think the connection you must be making between the 2 is the bald head. Past that, I see nothing similar.
