I’m confused about the Riley buzz

Were people actually convinced he’d come here? I thought the whole situation was a parody of itself. Like the hype was memeing itself into existence from random, anonymous insiders on TG.
Did Woodward think he had Riley? Is there any credible source suggesting this? Incredibly embarrassing if so. Very on brand considering the Herman debacle in 2016. Hopefully this was all made up by fake insiders.

Any sensible poster would have known it was a pipedream at best. If that....but it's easy to get caught up in all the inside info.

If you honestly believed there was a "done deal" for Riley when his team was still in the thick of a playoff hunt, I can't help you.
