Neither have enough experience to coach at an elite program like LSU, yet.

No way Scotty chooses either. I’m in awe just how clueless and disconnected the fans are that believe that Scotty makes the most important hire of his career to date on coaches that are simply not proven in some capacity.

Aranda barely has a winning record and Billy Napier has never coached a power-five team in his life.

In other words, neither of them are ready to be given the keys to a Ferrari like LSU.

Meanwhile, Riley's teams have consistently featured piss poor defenses every season of his career and Jimbo Fisher's very antiquated offense is just lame. Not to mention neither of them are worth the more than 12 million dollars annually it would take to hire one of them.

Then Mel Tucker, who just got a massive raise, is in the same league as Aranda and Napier and he is also totally unqualified to get the keys to the LSU Ferrari. Indeed, again, he barely has a winning record.

Thus, that leaves Lane Kiffin, who in only his first full season at the helm of Ole Miss has led that train wreck he inherited in Oxford to an 8 & 2 record after running roughshod over Jimbo Fisher and his Aggies in last night's game.

Not to mention that Lane Kiffin earned his current gig at Ole Miss via his very successful head coaching stint at Florida Atlantic.

Meanwhile, can anyone name another SEC head coach that has done as good of a job as Lane Kiffin has done so far this season in the SEC? No, no one can because Lane Kiffin has done by far the best overall coaching job in 2021 so far this season.

So there you have it, Lane Kiffin is by far the best and most qualified candidate to take over the LSU head coaching job.

Therefore, downvote away because I know none of you can make a better case for any of the other coaching candidates on the list.

I agree. Kiffin is the one that's actually winning. Riley wins so much because he plays in a very weak leauge. Jimbo destroyed a good FSU program then bolted. If there isn't a Matt Rhule type coming from the NFL then Kiffin is the most SEC proven coach available.

Yeah sucks we lost all those games...oh wait.

Some of you have the memory of a goldfish. Look at what Aranda did in 2016 in the Bama game. Look at how he shut down Lamar Jackson. He has been a top DC at multiple P5 schools. His DC resume speaks for itself. Did our defense struggle in some games? Sure but my god dismissing Aranda because of a few games that we WON is one of the dumbest things I have seen on here in a while.

By your logic we need to tell Saban no even if he wants to come back because he lost to ULM.

Here's the reality of the situation for you. Outside of Jimbo to ATM, which was about more than money, how many established P5 coaches of top programs have left and went to other top programs? Tell me how many there have been in the past two decades.

We all know Woodward wants to hire an established P5 guy, but the reality is he may not get a yes from any of them. So what does that leave him with?

Lastly, when was the last time LSU got the coach they wanted as their #1 option?

5 years as a head coach in a P5 program with good success. That’s a better resume than Aranda and Napier at this point.

He was 34-24 while at MSU. He was .500 3 of the 5 years he was at MSU. I wouldn't exactly call that "good success".

Neither are blowhards, they both are thoughtful and have plans. Napier is the offensive pick and quarterbacks coach that is known as a great and tireless recruiter and has built a program that has sustained winning seasons, and he has mentored under some the best in the business. He knows Louisiana and could likely save this recruiting year and dominate in future years.

Napier hasn’t done anything at the mid level. Let him go to Vandy or TCU or somewhere like that and win. Don’t give me the Bull shite that he had other offers. LSU is a top 5 program. You don’t gamble on Tom Herman from UH. Hell UH is bigger than USL.

The point I've been trying to make is, look at Saban, an apparently average coach at Michigan State... But whoever hired him at LSU looked deeper and discovered the hidden gem. Which coach under Scott's microscope now, is the hidden gem?

He was also a well known disciple of Bellichik. He knew defenses and how NFL teams were run.

You can’t compare Michigan State in the Big 10 to USL. Geez.

Aranda makes some sense. Can he recruit at high level?

Napier makes zero sense. LSU is not a training wheels job.

Well , I don’t think Jimbo moves . Jimbo got his ranch and a ton of money , wealthy Texas connections and a great salary . He is 60 . That makes a difference . Now , Riley , I don’t think moves . Mel Tucker is extorting a billionaire alumnus for an annual salary of 8 million . No way SW matches that for a coach with a .500 record . So… you go to tier 2 . That is Aranda and Napier .
Aranda may want to be the big fish in PAC 12 once Texas and OK move to the SEC . He would win it every year . I don’t know . Just something to ponder .
Napier would be OK . A head coach has to be like the conductor of a symphony orchestra . It doesn’t mean he has to be a virtuoso in every dang instrument , but … he has to have the ear to tell when something is off .

I agree that most successful P5 coaches will not move . That means LSU looks at tier 2 . That is Napier and Aranda . I am OK with both . Much better than captain shrimpboat ! Kiffin , Urban and Freeze are non starters especially after the Title IX issues .

These are not comparable. Aranda is Tier 2. Napier is Tier 3. There are plenty other coaches with better resumes in P5 schools like Iowa State, Minnesota, Purdue, Wake Forest, even in group of 5 schools that have proven more than Napier.

The point is, you don’t settle on someone in your back yard for a job like the LSU job. Hell, we have not talked about NFL coaches that would really do great at LSU that are tacticians like a Doug Pederson who could keep the same staff and murder it. He would be plug and play and worth it.

fricking psycho

Pretty sure this dude would go gay for Kiffin if he came up to him and told him to bend over
