Some Southern Miss fans think they will find a new Bower, but that aint happening

I don't want another Bower. Yeah he won games but so did Fedora and Fedora brought more energy to the program, something Bower couldn't do. As far as who I want as the next head coach I'll take Petrino for $750,000-$800,000 a year.

They just tried to get another "Bower" and went 0-12.

USM is hemorrhaging money right now in all areas.

At least, that's what I caught last night while not being distracted by the news anchor.

Looks like La Tech is gonna go hard after Todd Monken.

Hire Petrino and be done.

Supposedly another plane left Jackson for Arky today. Who knows?

Im all for Petrino. They will just have to tie in a nice buyout to his contract.

I read an exchange on twitter earlier between Gerald McRath and a few fans, and GM was clamoring for Tyrone Nix. The fans were against it

USM would be a good place for Petrino to get his feet wet again.

Petrino can do better than USM. And I say that as a USM fan and alumnus.

Doesn't look like he will get the UW, UT, or CU job.

USF will probably go Taggart.

Who's left?

USM?
Ark St?
UNI?
UTEP?
W. Mich?

I mean, if he wants to coach this season, which would be the best bet for his career?

Interviews start today

Blake Anderson
Todd Monken
Neal Brown
Doug Nussmier

Supposedly the job is Anderson's to turn down.

Some other names being floated by the Clarion Ledger, but not sure how reliable they are these days.

Other coaches in line for interviews, probably early next week, are Louisiana-Lafayette offensive coordinator Jay Johnson and Tennessee-Martin head coach Jason Simpson, both of whom have ties to Southern Miss.

Two other coaches whose names have emerged as possible candidates in the past few days are Sam Houston State head coach Willie Fritz and Georgia offensive coordinator Mike Bobo.
