Then how is Kiffin the best OC to get us there? I get he may know Saban's defense, but Saban knows his offense. If it's a battle of coaching between those two, i dont see kiffin winning many, if any, of those matches.

That plus Sark will just step right in to Kifffin's OC roll, and Bama is not very hurt by Kiffin leaving. I know he would improve our offense, but imo there are better choices for OC out there, when looking at the bigger picture.

Can someone sell me on Kiffin? I can't get past how he and O have been at prior stints together. Too much trouble waiting to happen, imo.

Then you don't hire the coach, that was the ONLY COACH, to score 0 points vs Bama during the season

We have given up, its all about saving money at this point

Joe Alleva has resigned that we won't beat Bama. He is happy as long as that game is close

In semi related news: Joe Alleva is a fricking pussy.

The amount of points we put up against Bama is how many millions Orgeron's contract should be worth.

Maybe we should hire a coach that doesn't allow them to score...can't lose if they don't score right?

The LSU coaches don't sit around thinking about how to beat Alabama.

Bama has more studs than everyone else and they are well coached on Defense..

Let it go

He came extremely close to beating him when he was at Tennessee. With less talent.

Unfortunately, it's no longer about beating Alabama so much as it is about beating everyone EXCEPT Alabama and getting past Alabama without getting horribly injured or letting the game affect our confidence for the remainder of the season.

You do that by going out and getting those big uglies (OL + DL). It's not sexy. Not a lot of highlight reels. But that's how you get back to 11-1.

And honestly, if LSU can forget about trying to beat Bama and just follow the process (one-game-at-a-time) and beat everyone except BAMA, we'll be in the CFP at the end each year.

This is why I'm worried. Orgeron is bad enough, but with Kiffin here as well?

Our compliance department better be ready to work overtime.

Dude, we clearly abondoned these goals as a program when we hired O. We're now good with 8-4.

Hate him all you want. Kiffin can recruit and call a championship offense. He's done it at two different schools.

Jalen Hurts is a pretty good true freshman, He has the #1 d.t. qb in the land committed. (tua) Hasn't lsu had a problem with qb's? He also is the lead recruiter for one of the top offensive tackles in the country at bama. He's been a recruiting coordinator at usc. The thing about being a great coach, saban included, is to have better players than the other guy.

Kiffen, in his only season at Tenn., took a underman team, with Ogeron, and it took a blocked fg by cody to win. (Alabama won the n.c. that year) Jonathan Crompton was his qb.

Do I wish Kiffin was more mature and easier to like? absolutely. However, to try and discredit his ability as offensive coach is absurd. He's been to good for to long at to many places.

I'm not a fan of the O hire but to be honest I think this might be a good hire for O. I think Saban has put reins on kiffin. If you remember his offense at Tenn and USCw that shite was wide open. I think O will let him do what he wants. Yea Kiffin is a POS but the fricker knows offense no doubt.

It is not about just knowing your opponent's offense or defense, every NFL team knows this about the other team. It is about match ups, the game within the game.

Lane is very good a creating match up that favor him. Remember how he would flex Drake out of the backfield to create a mismatch? If LSU truly has not be doing this under Miles, then y'all could be scary good when it comes to your talent at WR.

Meanwhile our retarded head coach trots out a 5'9 170lb walk-on back-up kicker to play WR in the SEC. Gus is a dumbass.
