Basically looks like it will be Jimbo or a disappointment. Appears Alleva staked almost everything on his courtship of Jimbo. Not certain that I approve of the search being so narrow and binary. Anyway, maybe there is some big surprise in store. Can only go off the little info we have.

I keep hearing this, but whats the difference, if he'd come for 3-4 mill? would still be cheaper than paying one of the golden boys 6+ million.


In my opinion, if Jimbo and Herman turn us down, you have to overlook the baggage and get the best available coach and thats Petrino.

edit: looks like Petrino is making around 3 million/year. He'd probably come here for the same money to kick Arkansas' arse.

This times millions. Go look at the man's past. He tried to snake Tubby's job at AU after the man gave him his big break, and broke the number one rule- don't ever meet in person before the opening is available. Then he got caught. Then he lied. Then it got proven and he had to backtrack and patch things up in Louisville only to lie again and leave for the Falcons. Then, that program fell to ashes in less than 2 years in his wake. Their AD threw Petrino under the bus every chance he got for the way he ran things.

The Falcons deal needs no explanation. That was the single most unprofessional move in the NFL in recent memory. There is no excusing that. He was a lousy coach who turned and ran.

I don't even need to get into the shite at Arkansas either. What is actually more important is that everything he supposedly built fell apart over the next two years, as well. That's because it was a house of cards.

Don't be fooled by Loserville's desperation to be relevant. They held their noses and took him back because he would come back. No other coach worth a damn was going there and sticking around. Leave them alone, because the two are made for each other.

Take a look at his amazing results this year. They have lost games to weaker teams, and didn't bother to show up until the 4th quarter vs Wake, Duke, and UVA. All 3 are bad football teams. Look at the man's trophy case. Pretty empty except for a Big East and a couple of C-USA Championships. That's really setting the world on fire.

Not only is Bobby P trash, he is a charlatan. His programs don't win big games when they matter or titles of any significance. The house of cards falls down as soon as he walks out the door. If we hire him, he will burn the program to the ground before it's all over.
