They would hire Paul Johnson right this second.

If they had a brain they would have kept their 9-10 wins per season.

So your saying if they had a brain they would have kept Pelini? WRONG!

Seconded

Unlike Clemson, Paul Johnson is getting ready for the ACC Championship game, he's a little busy.

YES DO THAT
This is an odd year for him. Hopefully that'll fool someone into taking him.

You think going back to the triple option will fix Nebraska's problems?

Paul Johnson is a great coach. I wanted him at Bama after Shula and before the Saban talk. Its very hard for him to recruit great athletes to Ga Tech. He could do that at Nebraska

It's very hard for him to recruit great athletes anywhere because they run an offense from the 1930s. I would be fricking irate if I had to watch that bullshite every Saturday

I was just thinking Paul Johnson would be a great fit there. However, 9-10 win seasons are as good as that program can do so he wouldn't be viewed any differently despite his success. Nebraska is not going to be a highly sought after opening considering the fans expect Alabama success at a Wisconsin level program.

Who cares what it looks like as long as it wins. He wins with subpar talent.

paul johnson can't recruit and i don't believe he really believes in it. he's great for a Navy or GT, who have issues recruiting. they're not going to get many top-tier guys and will recruit teh same level of guys with a mediocre recruiter (athletes without a ton of pro potential looking for an amazing education)

He wins 6-10 games with subpar talent. They just fired a better version of him who didn't run an antiquated offense.
And again, he will never recruit at a high level because of his system

I agree. I don't think highly of Johnson as a HC. sure, occasionally he wins a big game with that offense but more often than not, he loses big games. beating Georgia this year should not elevate his to big time status.

It is hard for Paul Johnson to recruit because he is a terrible recruiter. If they were to hire an option coach it would be Troy Calhoun who is a much better coach than Paul Johnson.

That would be a horrendous hire. Even Georgia Tech fans hate him. Last year in the Music City Bowl when they had a chance to come back late, he called a reverse on their own ten yard line that was fumbled into the endzone resulting in a safety.

They'd hire Petrino if they had a brain and dgaf

He lost to the only ranked teams they played. Nebraska can't do much better than Pelini at this point but they owe it to themselves to try.
