If moving on from Canada, offer same package as Aranda to get best OC

$10 Million guaranteed for 4 years.
Briles is good. He should be able to be here by Sunday.

Hiring O was an emotional decision that imo was the wrong one. Paying Aranda this is a bandaid to cover up past mistakes.

Briles makes around 400k right now. Why pay that much money when you could get him for half that and still more than double his pay. Please some of you don’t own businesses. You will be bankrupt in no time.

Not if you don't have to. LSU should be able to find a great OC without breaking the bank. Other schools do it. Aranda is getting that kind of money because in his case LSU is looking beyond him being the DC. Their conversations yesterday went beyond the DC role at LSU. He has the constitution it takes to be a head coach at a big program and the skill set to juggle all that comes with it.

Somehow the narrative is developing that LSU doesn't pay. Especially when talking about assistants, nothing could be further from the truth.

TBL and a couple others said yesterday that our admin had deemed K. Briles "too risky". But if we can't get Canada and Orgeron to see eye to eye (which an attempt is in the works according to the same sources) then Kendal is probably the best, most logical name out there, and our administration should reconsider their initial "too risky" label. Briles would wreck shite at LSU with Aranda leading the other half of the team. This would be a legit scary team with Aranda and Briles as coordinators.
