If Miles wants to go, would LSU waive the buyout?

I think they would. We're a classy program.

Im dangling about 11.5 inches.

Yes. You have to. You can't keep a guy from going to his alma mater because of a buyout.

Umm..no? Why lose the revenue?

I think they would and I personally think that Les is gone. That is why we havent heard anything from Crowton and is also why Chavis was rumored to Texas. something is up. Something will be done after Friday. The coaching staff just wants to get through the Cotton Bowl with no distractions.

i dont know, with the higher ed budget cuts in louisiana and LSU i think alleva and the administration would receive heavy fire for letting $1.5 million just walk

frick no, make Michigan pay us.

The AD is charging parking fees starting next season to make up for lost revenue and budget cuts to the school. I have a hard time believing they'd pass on the big amount of $$$ headed their way if another school wants their coach.

Technically, its not revenue. If Miles leaves, they replace him and use the funds to pay the next coach. What LSU would lose would be the 'penalty' in the contract.

Think about it.
Who the he'll are we just going to go out and hire?
We also will basically destroy our amazing recruiting class since NSD would be less than a month away. Our recruiting class alone is enough to realize this would be horrible for the program.
We do not want to lose Miles this offseason.

Miles is useless when distracted. See the Arky game in 2007 - we lost the game because Miles was out of it.
If he wants to Michigan, then keeping him here will make both parties miserable especially with the rabid LSU fan base constantly breathing down Miles' neck.

Our recruiting class is amazing every year.
Here's the thing: IF Miles WANTS to go and IF Michigan is offering him and the only thing keeping it from happening is the buyout, then you waive it. You don't want your head coach to NOT go to his alma mater and dream job because you forced him to stay. It just doesn't work.

If LSU fires miles do we have to pay him? It is the same principle.

So if coaches are sucking at their job they should just quit and not demand the rest of their contract from their former employer?

I think Collins and Freak along with the other possible lineman make this class more special than usual. It seems like we are always more heavy on WRs, Safeties, and RBs when it comes to stud recruits.

Glad the OP isnt running our athletic dept. No waiver..why have it in the contract in the first place if you are going to waive it?
