If Les leaves the first call should be Gary Patterson

Let him tell us no and then talk to Pelini. IMO Pelini is an uninspiring hire, but we're in a pretty shite situation right now. frick I can't believe we're having to deal with this again.

Does Patterson's new deal include a huge buyout?

Don't think so. Mullen has a pretty low buyout too. I personally think Mullen would be a great hire. I've been saying it since they got him, he would turn that program around.

I doubt Mullen comes here though if he didn't even want to make a lateral move to Florida.

There has got to be other options than Pelini. Basically we would be hiring a guy who couldn't beat Texas in the Big 12 and lost his bowl game to Washington. and he is not even an average recruiter. I would go as far as to say if we hire Pelini, we are giving up on the football program.

I'll join you so it'll be a 2 man march. You can still organize it.

Yeah, not so much looking for a coach, but caught with our pants down close to signing day, recruits not knowing who will be on the new staff, etc.

We can talk all we want about how great a program, facilities, etc. LSU has, but it's all a matter of TIMING--all the tremendous, impact hires just signed contract extensions.

Yep. It's frustrating.

The only possible scenario on the planet where Florida-Miss St-lateral move all collide in the same sentence is maybe 4H. Tell me you were joking

I am not saying he wants to come to LSU but I think the not wanting to go to UF as about some bad blood between he and CUM.

Pellini would be a terrible hire imo. He has already shown he doesn't get along well with admin at Neb., he would bring in his brother to be a cood.(could set up a bad situation), his antics on the sidelines wouldn't go over too well with LSU fans. I'd stay as far away from Pellini as possible.
