If Lane comes, I really hope he could steal Barton Simmons (GM) from Vandy?

I truly believe Simmons is the hand behind vandy and all the success they are having right now. Austin Thomas is good but I believe Barton Simmons is elite. Pair Simmons with Kiffin could be great for us.

I’m pretty sure Lane already has a guy in mind. It was apparently a sticking point at UF, as Stricklin pushed back a bit, wanting his own guy.

Barton’s from Nashville and played HS ball with Lea. Anything’s possible, but I doubt he leaves Vandy. He’s got a pretty nice setup.

Not saying you made this up, but how could anyone possibly know this? It sounds like one of a thousand things I've read lately that sounds like someone just pulled it out of their arse and slapped onto the rant until it gets passed around enough to make people just accept it as common knowledge.

Yeah, it certainly isn’t 100%, which is why I was sure to say “apparently”. I heard it from a Gator fan here in Jax that I trust 100% on it. He got it from a Gator paysite. It could be incorrect but he was sincere about it. He was pissed.

Yea I read the same thing too. I'm sure Kiffin wants to bring his guy but Strickland was interviewing candidates for the position. Kinda goes back to what other UF boards were saying about allowing him to have full autonomy of NIL and Florida kinda pushing back. Not sure when this happened though.

Yep and if what we’ve heard is true, Gator fans will want to tar and feather Stricklin. What a monumental screw-up that would be.

Blake Ruffino (I know lol) also said this yesterday. So it's out there. Not sure how many people know. Things have been relatively quiet on their end now. But then again so has LSU.

True, but Barton Simmons probably had a big role in getting him on campus. But I agree with the others that he’s staying put as long as Clark Lea is there

I like Blake and he has definitely called some fhings correctly before they’ve happened. In fact, last Thursday he said he wasn’t going to get into details at the moment but he heard something out of Gainesville regarding their handling of negotiations “that will blow your minds”. Said he would have to have a couple of people on to talk about it once this is settled. It was the very next day that I heard what I heard and the Gator guy said it was on the paysite on Thursday.
