Please please LSU just hire anyone to stop these fricking threads about everyone’s unfounded opinions. You clutter this board with nonsense.

I think that if he went anywhere it would be to the NFL.

Tulane and Ole Miss are banding together on menstrual cycles it seems. Keep hating on LSU. That’s where he wants to be

Bama does carry more prestige and tradition. They currently have a superior football culture, but if we are fast-forwarding 3 years to the point they want to fire DeBoer, then LSU will probably have a better culture at that point. For NIL, Bama won't have more than LSU. Few teams in the SEC will have larger NIL. UGA, Texas, and aTm might be the only 3 that are larger. LSU and Bama are on par with each other (or at least they are currently).

Kiffin has shown his personality time and time again since he entered the head coaching scene.

Has he?

He was an assistant coach at USC for 6 years until he was offered the Raiders' HC job. Was that an unreasonable move?

He was an assistant at Alabama for 3 seasons until he was offered a HC job elsewhere. Was that an unreasonable move?

He was an HC at FAU for 3 seasons until he was offered an SEC HC job. Was that an unreasonable move?

99.9% of coaches in his position would make the same move. Two were "promotions" form an assistant to a head coach. The other was from a low level school to a high level school.

The ONLY unusual change was when he left Tennessee after one season. But he did so to take the USC HC job. A place where he coached for 6 seasons, and a program that was viewed as a MUCH better program at the time than Tennessee.

He's been at Ole Miss for 6 years. Numerous schools have had job openings during that time. Yet, he's still there.

LSU to Bama and vice versa is a lateral move. Both jobs are without question top 5 nationally and both will provide any coach all the resources he needs and then some.

For Kiffin, didn’t Bama show his arse the door before he took the FAU job? I’d remember that if a former employer did that to me and came sniffing around again.

I’ll go on record now and say when he’s hired, minimum 7-8 years

LK will be great here and our fans will embrace him.

There’s not a job out there (in CFB) that has more than what LSU can offer

He could be the next Saban!

ETA: that move makes no sense and OP made no compelling argument as to why that could happen

Because anyone successful in any job will always be courted by others-- so what do you do? should we only attempt to hire someone who we think will be good enough but not great? loser mentality

This really doesn’t bother me bc if they come calling it means he’s doing well here.
Also, if he’s doing well and is personally happy, LSU is the type of job you don’t leave for another college job.
LSU could match or outright exceed any offer bama would make. So just depends where he truly wants to be bc in terms of jobs, they’re about equal.
