If Kiffen wants a HC job, why wouldn't he just stay at Bama for another year?

If there are no HC openings for him this year? Surely one more year of success at Bama would land him the position he apparently really wants. I just don't see him coming to Lsu trying to restart a program with recent terrible offensive success when he has bigger things just on the horizon.

Because he wants to go with his buddy and get away from his current a-hole boss? I mean Saban doesn't have a great track record as a good person to work for.

Relationships and he can prove that he can turn around an LSU offensive that has struggled the last few years.

Why didn't he get a job last year? Why didn't he get a job this year? Same reason he probably won't get a job next year.

He saw that LSU's TE's coach was running the offense and set three all-time LSU offensive records and thought to himself "HOLY shite !!!".

Unless you think Nick Saban is a prick and you hate working for him, while a guy you like and have coached with before is offering a great job.

Kiffin doesn't need to prove anything. He's taken first-year starters at QB each year and made the playoffs each year. His stock is as high as it's going to get - he doesn't need to risk that on a new OC gig, particularly with a brand new HC at the helm.

My belief is that he re-ups with Bama another year if he doesn't get a head coaching job this year.

A little extra cash wouldn't hurt either.

this is what I'm talking about. Unless he just absolutely fricking can't stand another year with Saban, I bet he stays and waits for another HC job to open up.

You make a valid point but also consider this: If he comes to LSU and makes the offense do a 180 into the right direction and drastically increases our offensive productivity and offensive rankings; that would give him way more stock for being a HC vs staying at bama where they win games on defense anyway.

It would look so much better on him to have success at LSU for the next year or two than being at bama again. IMO.

He certainly doesn't need to come to LSU to get a HC job. However, why not come to a place where you can make more money AND work under a less controlling/demanding boss?

Saban isn't going to play this game every year. Do you think he says. "Ok lane stay one more year and we can try this bullshite again next year" he's gonna have someone else who will agree to three yrs before they go looking for a HC job.

Bc Kiffin thinks Nick Saban is an a$$hat and has said as much to some of his friends.

Kiffin just simply would rather not work for the guy.

Risk/reward is out of whack for this scenario based on where he is now. He's having difficulty getting a job as it is.

If his offense at LSU is mediocre, then his prestige takes a hit and he can forget about getting a decent HC job in the near future.
