They could. But they would be very wrong.

Sorry, bud…LSU isn’t a top 5 job.

Hmmm. Seems that everyone that matters disagrees with you. No but you are probably more knowledgeable than the experts, random Internet dude.

Then the Bama job isn’t “top 5” either because that entire state is trashy and smells like someone took a shite in a sulfur mine.

Offense wins championships

Is that why Oklahoma has won so many recently?

Kiffin. Offense is the engine that will power us to our next Championship. The HC must be someone who is known for being an innovator and play caller on offense- not another meddler.
No- I'm not saying Dave would meddle- just saying he isn't known for offense. I think right now, we need an offense- minded HC....

I think Aranda or Napier would be better long term consistency hires that would solidify the program from the ground up and set us up for long term success. Kiffin and Freeze would be splashier hires, maybe even win quicker out of the gate but i think would fizzle out down the road when they hit some adversity or maybe they would jump ship to another program before the chickens come home to roost.

Taking shortcuts to win quickly at all costs instead of long term planning and "process" is what burned coach O. And long term big picture process is what separates guys like Saban and Skip Bertman from the pack. i think Napier and Aranda are in this mold, because neither of them jumped at the first big coaching job they were offered, but waited for the right situations, waited until they were ready, & did all their homework before making that move. That has set them up for more long term success.

edit: the shortcuts im talking about are not interviewing Pelini, hiring and firing coordinators every year chasing the Joe Brady rainbow, instead of establishing a system, overusing the transfer portals to patch holes instead of building and developing players from the ground up.

Do you want to tell us the other programs, besides Bama, who has played in 4 national championship games in the last 18 years, plays in 100,000 seat stadium, ranks forth in the nation in overall wins since 2000, Is continually ranked as one of the top college football businesses in the nation, sins more players to the NFL per capital than any other state, and pays their football coach $8 million a year?

Aranda and it’s not even close for me.

Originally I was not for Aranda. But all things considered, he may be the best choice. IMO
