LSU, logically, will be better than they are, with a Riley, than a 0. We've handled OU they way we were, what's going to make OU better?

This is pablum. Year in year out they've been great and have some hardware to show.
Up there with Bama, LSU, Ohio State and Clemson.
They're not going anywhere, the SEC move is going to boost them. Only Missouri has taken a step back since expansion. Arkansas, TAMU and USC have been as good or better.
The rest of your argument is a relic of a time when coaches didn't have unlimited film on every kid, unlimited travel resources and a million ways to reach recruits.
All that matters now is the bread. OU is tied for sixth for active NFL players.
They're not going anywhere. LSU is not going to pluck their coach on name alone. They're behind in that regard. They're going to have to make a big offer to compete.

A good comparison for what OU can expect in the SEC is UTenn.
UTenn has an amazing football tradition as well but the last 20 years have not been kind to them.

Sorry Mitri but the Grand Inquisitor will not allow it to happen.

The same reason Saban left beautiful Miami for the shot hole and dumpster fire in Tuscaloosa

A coach who installs a competent defense.

If Woodward pulls all of this off like we think he has, and Lincoln Riley is announced as the next HFC at LSU, it will be staggering on a few levels.
One, pulling a young top-tier coach from a serious power5 program who has his team competing at the top of the polls year in and year out, vying for playoff spots, and producing Heismans ... that's unheard of. All of the other similar moves of this nature are older coaches whose programs appear to be on a downturn after having success. Fisher was a great pull for A&M, but he was going somewhere soon anyway. He and FSU had soured on each other.
Two, the finances of this deal will be historic. It appears that the numbers we've heard are fairly accurate, as you can see what Mel Tucker (an early serious candidate) received in his extension from MSU. This is definitely a "market reset" hire that is looking forward to the new TV deal for the conference as we add OU and UT.
And finally, the absolute STEALTH with which Scott Woodward appears to have pulled this off will go down as one of the greatest silent coups is CFB history. To pull such a target from a program like OU without any of the national media or even OU's own insiders apparently having even a sniff of what was going on until it was too late ... that's unreal. Stuff like Fisher to A&M, Herman to UT, Kiffin to USC ... those type of deals were all widely discussed at the national level before they were finalized. This has pretty much been confined to this board and those willing to look here.
Wow. Wow! Scott Woodward may be the most lethal AD in the business when he sets his sights on a target to bring into his athletic department.

There’s no comparison in CFB. It’d be the biggest coaching poach in modern history
Which is why it probably isn't happening.

Riley WILL FINALLY have access to REAL DEFENSIVE TALENT AT LSU. Worry not a minute longer, not even a second! Woodrow and Riley have a plan to build the best defense ever and to make LSU the best dynasty of all time.

Why does he now only have access to offense talent?
IMO, the core issue with Riley is he's an OC playing the role of a HC. At this juncture, Aranda has a more mature football philosophy than does Riley.

Sure, if you include all of your special rules.

Yeah, I get it, and I have confidence in Aranda too, but I also have confidence in Riley AND Woodward.

Tennessee has neither the legacy nor the resources of Oklahoma but whatever helps you sleep at night.
