They will announce on Monday.

I can not think of Hoke getting the nod over Miles.

Is this hope, or speculation?

I can't see Miles taking the Michigan job, and I can't see Michigan hiring Miles. I hope I'm correct.

There a problem with that. We don't always get what we want. That includes Michigan.

Really, man? You can't see it?

Michigan is DEFINITELY hiring a "Michigan Man", this time. If you also accept that they would prefer to hire a "Michigan Man" with direct Bo Schembechler ties - the three best resumes are:

Lloyd Carr

Les Miles

Jim Harbaugh

Really, you can't see that?

I hope you are, too. The hiring environment might be worse than the 2004/2005 season.

He didn't in 2007. What makes this year a better opportunity, especially considering the state of the program? You think Michigan is going to pay Miles $4-5 M a year? That's what it's going to take.

Not getting Harbaugh. Not going to rehire Carr. Not sure they're strongly going after Miles. I think Hoke is the guy they're going after.

This is the way I feel. I couldn't blame the guy if he wants to coach for the next 10-15 years at his alma mater. He loves that place, and LSU will probably finish 2nd in his mind when going up against Michigan.

I hope he stays here and we bring in a new OC to work with Mettenberger and co. I don't feel too good about it since they haven't made a decision yet. All signs point to them at least offering Miles and waiting on his decision.

Again, if nothing is done by Friday it will be a be a good chance. I have a hard time believing Miles would talk to them before the bowl game. I think he will but not til then. That makes his comments come together about being were he wants to be and not talking to them(yet of course).

If so then why put on this front of national search. I mean come on Hoke would take the job in a heart beat and I doubt they would need to offer much money.

IMO if they knew they wanted Hoke and no one else he would already be hired. Since he is not I would not be surprised at all if Michigan contacts LSU after the Cotton bowl in order to speak to Miles at least before making a hire.

Miles won't talk to them until after the bowl game. That is what I get from his statments, if the offer is what he wants IMO he is gone, and we are searching for a coach and scrambling to keep recruits. Personaly I don't think we would lose very many.

Personally I don't think Miles is going anywhere. I don't think Michigan wants him but I just wanted to comment on the speculation that's been presented on ESPN.

Every person they on staff there from Michigan or the Big Eleven has been very outspoken about not wanting Les Miles to be the next head coach there. And Craig James is openly campaigning for Brady Hoke. Andrea Kramer asked him, "yeah but what about Les Miles?" and he wouldn't even go there. Just kept going on and on about Hoke. And not because of the buyout or anything. It was more like Miles shouldn't even be considered.

I don't know what to make of it quite frankly.

Worst analyst they have on staff.

Last I checked all the Big Ten ESPN talking heads trumpeted the Rich Rod hire and it was a smashing success...... Oh wait....

If no coach is named at Michigan by Saturday morning, this board will explode with rumor and plane watching for Les Miles book it.

If they really wanted Hoke, it would be done already. I don't know what he's making at SDSU, but Michigan probably doesn't have to offer more than $1 million or so to get him there since he's already told SDSU that Michigan is his dream job.

Should have asked James what about Leach?

James is a douche I can't stand that guy. Where the frick do they get off pimping someone for any coaching. And who would listen to James anyway he played at SMU and we all know how that turned out.
