If already asked than delete. Curious if one swallows his pride and stays for recruiting. I do believe if it is Herman than Aranda stays and gets a pay bump due to Herman and Aranda's history.

Depends what his other options were. I don't think he will leave to be a d line coach somewhere and he is not exactly a hot commodity for a hc job.

If USM fires Hopson I could see him there.

No chance Orgeron would stay if he doesn't get the job.

If we hire Herman, i could actually see a switch happen. Herman to LSU and O to UH. That's assuming he has a decent November.

It is still very possible

Depends on his options. He has always said he doesn't want to HC unless it's a major program, no?

No.

CEO left USC when he was not offered the head coaching job. He won't stay.

its been discussed several times...... and the most accurate answers is........who the hell knows.

people are saying he would be gone because he left USC under the same circumstance.

I say its not the same circumstance. He's from here. His wife is in Mandeville. His sons are playing ball at McNese St. He would be the highest paid DL coach, Recruiting coordinator, still employed at his dream job in his home state.

Does he take that offer? No one knows but him...but I don't see how this is being considered the same as USC and that he would definitely walk. Its not like he's being courted to be a HC anywhere.....but I'm sure if he's pissed, he can go be a DL coach somewhere else....but remember, he was not working when we hired him, probably by choice, but not working nonetheless.

There's a lot more to it then just O not being offered.
Like a previous post there won't be much out there for him.
I really think he stays on DLine and recruiting cor.

It depends on how he finishes the season. If he wins out and gets coaching offers, then no. Of course not.

If he drops another game and it is clear that he isn't going to get a top offer this year, then I think he might stay, be congratulated for doing a great job as interim, and get a pay raise as DLine coach and Recruiting Coordinator.

No matter what happens, he deserves our thanks for stepping into the void and coaching well.

USC and LSU are completely two different beast. O came to LSU because he loves LSU and loves Louisiana. I don't think in a thousand years he ever thought he would have a shot at being head coach. He loves it here and if he doesn't get the head coaching gig I think he would be just as happy to stay on as the defensive line coach and recruiting coord. Just my two cents worth.

I think it all depends on how LSU finishes. If LSU wins out and wins convincingly from here and Coach O is passed on then yes I do think he leaves. But if we lose 2 more from here then no I don't think he leaves because of he will understand he didn't get the job done.

Pete Jenkins is probably the only guy who could get named HC that O would stay on staff for. I just don't think his ego allows him to stay on board. Which is partly due to all the ruhtards on this board calling for him to be head coach for the last month.

It's funny you think this board has any influence on LSU anything

In fairness to the rantards... it seems pretty clear he knew all of the circulating talking points to rev up their interest. Even now, he's still on message.

There is still some danger that it might help him get the job over more qualified head coaches. I think people would rapidly tire of the results not matching the rhetoric. I'm hoping we short circuit that whole Tennessee style death spiral into self-cannibalism and underwhelming coaches. That could take a decade to reach the other side.

Not impossible he could stay, but I'd consider it extremely unlikely.
