Briles is lucky Baylor didnt have to release the reports. I feel like if Baylor let all the info out in public, Briles would never coach anybody again.

Arkansas would be dumb to hire that Pos.

Southern Miss tried to hire him and it got whacked. He’s not coaching again.

Pretty sure he turned around and got in trouble this year at a high school too.

I said this a while back.

quote:

Arkansas will be paying two coaches to not coach so the best route is to go after Art Briles. He would be considerably cheaper than Leach. Both can win at Arkansas but Briles has the connections to Texas High Schools full of over looked players.

If the Arkansas AD was smart he would offer the job to Art Briles and hire Kendall as OC/ Head Coach in Waiting.

Don't need Briles when Mike Leach is available. Leach taught Briles the Air Raid.

Art Briles doesn’t run the air raid. He runs a multiple that runs a ton more than Leach.

You don't think he runs an air raid. He comes from the tree but like so many other air raid coaches he took his own twist with it.

He loved the four vertical concept.

He already will never coach anywhere meaningful again. Yet I'm sure 10 years from now people on this board will still be clamoring for teams to "screw the optics" and hire 74 year old Art Briles.

If Baylor had an ounce of dirt on Briles they would have released it and avoided paying him 18 million dollars. And would not have wrote him an exoneration letter.

Briles created his own offense called the veer and shoot. It's a blend of the shotgun veer with run and shoot concepts as the name suggest.

It does use some of leech's concepts he learned in early 2000s at TTu under leech but briles system has lots of veer option and uses lots of verticals.

Personally I think many teams have caught up to it, but it could easily be adjusted to stay using the middle of the field more to make it work.

They paid him to stay quiet. Make him mad and he starst talking about how the higherups helped protect athletes accused of rape, and I assure you the lawsuits against Baylor would be way more than $18M.
