If Aranda becomes HC he may not have a string of OCs.

One of the biggest objections to Aranda is that he'll need good OCs and that these will constantly need to be replaced. I don't think the latter is necessarily true. There's a high likelihood that he will pick up Herman as OC, and if so, there's a chance he just stays put (like Venables at Clemson). He's already been a HC and that didn't work out too well. That means none of the big schools are going to be willing to risk hiring him for quite a while. Furthermore, his failure as a HC will likely make Herman reluctant to do that again unless the circumstances are just right. So if Herman becomes OC, he could last a long time.
Having the continuity of many years without a major change in coaches under an intelligent defensive head coach and a innovative offensive coordinator could result in the next dynasty.
I also feel that Aranda's recruiting is better than he is given credit for. I think any shortfall will be made up for with better talent evaluation and better development of players.
In addition, Aranda already has a good knowledge of many of the players and coaches we have. His return is likely to be the smoothest transition.
I know many will disagree, but Aranda is my guy. Put his brain in charge, and with our players we should dominate. You may now downvote and say "NO!".

Total YPG:
Baylor 472
LSU 382
Total PPG:
Bayor 33.7
LSU 30.0
Well he is doing better than what we have right now. I think he will be just fine

I think Grimes would get the Baylor job if Aranda came this way, but are we sure it would be Herman?

If Herman is part of the deal scratch aranda

Kirby hasn't had a good string of OC and he's gone 59-14 with 4 straight NY6 bowls including 2 playoff and 1 NC appearance. That's hella consistency

Yep. The reason I prefer a defensive coach is because they can create an overall toughness for the program. This extends to the offensive line. So if you focus on beating the shite out of the opponent at the point of attack on both sides of the ball, the points will come. How many times have we doubted the talent of an RB or QB from bama bc of their offensive line??

Name one team that's NOT doing better than what we have right now.

This objection makes no sense. It would be the same if you hired an offensive coach with defensive coordinators. Everybody wants someone who has an expertise one side of the ball. Most want that to be offense in today’s game, but regardless, if they’re successful, they’ll need to be replaced whether they are defensive or offensive coordinators.

There’s zero chance Herman is ready to settle for being a coordinator the rest of his career. That’s why you don’t attach HCs with any particular coordinator when hiring. We saw what happened with Orgeron and Kiffin. O sold Alleva on bringing Kiffin with him, Kiffin gets a HC offer at the last minute, and O is scrambling to find an OC that will plácate everyone.
No, you hire just the HC you think is best for your program. If he has to be attached to a particular coordinator, then he’s not the right hire. I like Aranda too. I think he’s both smart enough to recognize what he wants in an OC—that was a pretty under the radar hire he made of Grimes—and respected enough that people will want to work for/with him. I think he’d be able to replace OCs as effectively as Saban.

where does this idea come from? they haven't ever worked together and aranda's most success as a head coach came after he hired jeff grimes as oc and eric mateos as ol coach. if anything, the highest likelihood is that both come with him to continue the ball control, wide-zone offense that they've had success with.

Can't under someone taking the time to type that words regarding someone that isn't remotely close to becoming the LSU HC.

Aranda seems like a great person but I'm still a little leery with his resume
2-7 last year
So far this year this is the teams he's gone up against:
Texas St
Tex South
Kansas
Iowa St
OSU only loss
West Va
BYU
not exactly murderer's row
I'm not sure he has the personality to handle a LSU

Lol.. high likelihood ?
According to the binder, O was bringing Lane.. Never happened. Also Aranda is on his 2nd OC he hired & fired Fedora year 1

That's really not that bad for Baylor. Probably above their expectations. Aranda would be a solid hire, and I think we'd all get more excited about it when we hear what his staff might look like. Strikes me as high speed, low drag.

Bama and Georgia do just fine replacing OCs year after year. Good programs led by great HCs will attract good talent. Aranda would be a good or great HC at LSU. Coach O is a lackluster HC and therefore attracts lackluster coaching talent

Aranda will not be the next head coach because he isn't remotely qualified.

I’m okay with needing to find a good coordinator for one side of the ball. Basically every team in the country has to do this every year to keep ahead. It would be unrealistic to find some coach who somehow has an offensive and defensive system that he has a huge hand in and has had consistent units for a long period without any issues
The issue with O is you have to do that for both sides of the ball and pray you either luck into a coach that wants to be a lifer coordinator (extremely rare) or continuously hit on both hires. Which is considerably less likely to happen, especially when the guy making the calls is a questionable decision maker at best

Iowa State and BYU were both ranked wins

Means Tucker isn't either. they have roughly the same amount of head coaching experience.
