My theory on why Joe went with Ed as interim over Aranda is related to that issue... If Aranda is named interim HC in September, and is underwhelming and doesn't win the "audition", it might have lessened our chances to keep him. His pride would have been bruised to be promoted and then demoted.
Orgeron, while very important to try to retain on staff, isn't as important as keeping Aranda.

A lot of people are nervous right now. I'm hoping Joe keeps the negotiation rolling and doesn't let his ego get in the way. A week ago Fisher wanted to come here, we had the money to pay him, and boosters couldn't foresee anyway it'd get messed up. Underestimated Joe.
Hopefully Joe fixes this. Housing allowance is a sticking point. Sexton is just doing his job. Joe needs to negotiate instead of scoff.

This story gets more absurd by the moment. After all this, we're going to balk at a demand for a housing allowance? That's like convincing a nymphomaniac Victoria Secret model to marry you, then calling everything off when the wedding gets slightly too expensive. Think long term Joe.

No its not. its basically $6,000 to $8,000 a month and you get some of the finest real estate in the area. Its not like LSU will be paying out the full 30 year mortgage, cuz Jimbo aint coaching here for 30 more years
