Maybe, maybe not. I don't really know. I do know that Saban and Moore had a great working relationship, and even if Saban has a positive view of Battle, it's still not as strong as was his friendship with Mal Moore.

I never said they don't get along. I said battle doesn't pay nearly as much attention to saban as he likes. He doesn't fluff his pillow and butter his toast like mal did. Battle is a cold calculating CEO. He isn't the best at handling egos like Sabans when his is the only one in the county that probably rivals it

agreed. he it will at least give strong consideration to UTs offer. I think it create's an interesting dynamic if Mack retires but stays on in some university role....Saban may not be comfortable with that arrangement

I saw message board fodder about Battle and Saban not getting along as to why Saban might leave. Never saw insiders or sources making this claim.

While true, Battle is also a former player and alumnus. I imagine that the truth lies somewhere in the middle.

Some Bama folks here drunk on hubris here just seem to be of the belief that there's nothing Texas can do to get Saban to seriously consider their offer, and that Texas' pending offer is irrelevant.
