Yep.
Les does have a bit of showman in him, and a sense of drama.
This would have been the perfect time to reprise the "damn strong team" line.
He didn't.
This scenario has a totally different feel than three years ago ...

He's good as gone and all the rantards who have wished for it for so long will rejoice for a few days. Then after a couple of weeks they will realize how screwed we are as recruiting suffers and we don't have that star power everyone thought we would be able to replace him with.

The media is just an obstacle in these processes. The coaches pretty much have to say whatever it takes to shut them out. i.e. "I will not be the head coach at Alabama."

He doesn't have to come out with the "Damn strong team" presser right now, because the media isn't saying he's going to UM. Just some tards are...and he doesn't give a rat's arse about them.

When you're the most successful coach in LSU history and have been excoriated by the so-called fans because, when it comes right down to it, you're not Nick Saban, you can answer these questions however you want. If he decides not to burn any bridges until they absolutely need burning, no matter what his intention, that's his right. If I were Les, I'd be inclined to get the hell out of Baton Rouge because its fanbase is delusional, and its local media couldn't field a reporter with a triple digit IQ if it had to. But I'm a vindictive sort of guy. He's a much classier individual.

I think that says it all. He's staying.
There's something about the LSU job. Coaches have to be dragged away, kicking and screaming. Saban would be the exception of course.
The key, imv, is this: is Michigan Les Miles' dream job? If it is, Miles needs to consider a few things, his age and his opportunity. A good argument could be made that it's now or never for LM and Michigan.

You're absolutely right. LSU fans deserve Mike Leach: highly quotable and entertaining. Kind of the way, say, Earl Long was. Leach suits LSU fans and media. I doubt he suits players the way Miles does, though.

Leach would not be a good fit as head coach. I just don't think he could recruit will here.
