My best guess, subterfuge. They brought on a search team known for keeping things close to the vest. What better way to keep all the attention off of who you are vetting and targeting than pointing all the attention at someone who is in a rock and a hard place and can’t comment on where they will end up?
There is an expiration date to this and when that day comes, Lane Kiffin will be the head coach of LSU.

"deals", at least to me, means a meeting of the minds, and confers that there is acceptance from both the offerer and the recipient... i do not believe that is the case with all 3 schools...
he has "offers" from all 3, yes, this much is for sure... we all know that much... but "deals", no... he does not have deals with all 3 schools

I actually believe you’ve got good info. That lane to LSU is as close to done as it can get without a signature.
But
There is no signature, and until there is I’m going to acknowledge that he can change his mind at any time.
ETA: I also believe letting him coach the Egg bowl is a huge risk.

Of all the possibilities this is the one that is not probable and perhaps illegal.
Is it possible he has an offer in hand from all 3...sure.
However deal he might sign would include language forbidding having one with anyone else. Its likely standard in every contract.

Maybe if the leaks actually matched up and came to fruition, it would be easier to believe them…
