If he gets Grimes to come along then he already has a good OC.

I have definitely set myself up to be disappointed if it isn’t either of them

The thing that needs to be considered about those rankings are, that’s at Baylor. He’s at best 3rd on the totem pole to Texas and aTm in that state alone and many OOS schools will take the better athletes or go to their favorite in state school before they go to Baylor. It could possibly be Aranda, someone commented early on that 3 coaches would be retained, we know MJ and CR coached with him and are good recruiters.

I’m not sure that I don’t prefer Aranda. He gives you stability, familiarity, and defensive genius.

Riley offers offensive genius, and great Offensive recruiting.IMO one isn’t that much better than the other. Both have perceived strengths and weaknesses. Both will also have NFL opportunity if they wish.

That's at Baylor. The Baylor Bears. Pretty impressive, actually, especially the jump up 12 spots in a year.

He was LSU’s worse recruiter.

BS. Chavis left the cupboard completely bare at LB when he absconded for aTm. Aranda refilled the cupboard and put some of those guys in the NFL. The "muh Aranda can't recruit" crap is nonsense.

He's arguably the best linebackers coach in LSU history.

With Matt Rhule’s recruits.

Bob Stoops won his one natty with John Blake's recruits. Les Miles won his first natty with Nick Saban's recruits. Jimbo won his one natty with Bowden's recruits.

Woodward will not hire him.

Woodward isn't stupid, and would be lucky to land Aranda.

Charles, would Aranda choose LSU over USC?

You’ve been pretty adamant about Aranda for a while…has this been in the works for a while?

No. He wouldn't. The roots angle is over-played......

The familiarity Dave has with LSU and knowing full well what it can be outweigh the alternatives.

Dave with full control has the absolute potential (irony abounds) to mimic the results seen in T-town.

You’ve probably been asked 72 times but here is the 73rd. Do you know any kind of time frame?
