Well old Tubby seems older. I would think LSU would want a long term hire if presented the opportunity.

He's a good Coach, but I swear some people around here would be happy with Osama Bin Laden if they thought he would win football games.

either way, the man is a hell of a coach
as i said in another thread, Auburn finished in the top 15 in 5 of the last 7 seasons he coached at the barn
the man has a ton of swagger that goes back to his time during the glory days of Miami
he knows defense and simply knows how to coach up a team. it would be scary to see what he did as a recruiter in the cat bird's seat in a state like Louisiana
also, think about his desire to get back at Auburn and get at Bama again

again I think he's a very good football coach and years ago when Tubbs to LSU rumors surfaced I was for it, but seeing him lay down in AU just worries me.
X&O's no doubt better than Les, but the intangibles I'm not so sure about. There's also no one on his current staff I'd want here or consider an upgrade.

That's a bad comparison.
Miles went from 12 to 8...and then 9 wins. Also, unlike Tubberville at Auburn, it was not evident that the dropoff would continue. In fact, LSU ended up winning 11 games.
In addition, the "program" at LSU never suffered. LSU's recruiting didn't fall off and it didn't fall behind the other major players in the SEC, unlike Tubberville at Auburn.
You are trying to make the situations similar when, in fact, they are not.

and after 5-7 when he was fired, the next coach won 8 and 12 games. Pretty similar if you ask me.
Who's to know what that next year would have looked like under Tubby.
Mile got the luxury to see that next year. Tubberville didnt.
Im not saying they are totally similar, but definitely some parallels.
If a team can win 8 games in the SEC after you leave you didnt leave it in shambles. Bottom line. chose your words better.

yea i dont see anyone that catches my eye. He's only been there a year, i dont know how tight those relationships are. He could like some of the guys we have if Miles doesnt take them if he leaves.
and im not saying he is my top choice, but trying to bring more to the thread than stupid shite like "he is an old frick and he left Auburn in shambles".

I agree that Tubby is a good coach, but I can never forgive him nor accept him as coach after he let his team stomp the Eye of the Tiger and his infamous cigar incident. He should have shown a little more professionalism and not burnt any bridges, but he certainly did in my mind.
