i can see that besides bilj and LE, nobody in this thread even cares to give any legitimate reasons against tubbs
How you leave a program when you leave is VERY important. Auburn's program was garbage when Tubberville left. Tubberville did have some success for a while, but he always did it inspite of pretty average recruiting relative to other SEC schools.
Saban basically walked into that state, and literally took everything away from him overnight.
My opinion of Tubberville has nothing to do with him showing us up. I dislike Saban as much as anybody else, and I'd take him back if given the opportunity.
What a garbage suggestion. LSU is much bigger than a Tubberville hire.

Auburn has always been second fiddle in the state of Alabama. the scenario that played out was bound to happen once bama got a top coach. we are in a one school state, so we cant really understand how much of a second fiddle that AU actually plays in that state

Absolutely. The SEC is much more competitive now. You have to be able to run a program and bring in top notch talent.
All you have to do is look at what his last couple of teams did at Auburn and take an educated guess as to what last year would have looked like had Tubberville stayed around.
That program was in shambles when he left and going in the wrong direction.

He never owned the state from a recruiting standpoint....even when Bama was at its worst.

And you think that Auburn would be playing for the NC had Tubberville stayed? I think that's a ridiculous notion.

you are acting like he coached so long ago. It's basically the same in terms of competitiveness.
He ran that program well despite being a 2nd tier SEC school.
I mean did Les Miles recruit top notch talent at OK ST?

11-2

those were he last 3 seasons. I dont know, that doesnt seem like it was in shambles to me. Chizik won 8 games last year with the talent Tubbs left and is in the national title game now. I mean really?

what are you talking about? I said my dislike for him has nothing to do with the bad blood. NOTHING. I even mentioned him throwing in the towel when saban started whipping his arse on the recruiting trail.
Don't call me out when one of the reasons you listed for hiring a guy was because he got swagga from his UM days. You grow up

Tubs is a worse coach than Miles really. He has loyalty to a bunch of dipshits that Miles looked past like Mallory. OK maybe not LOL JK.
The biggest problem with Tubs is he is a lazy SOB and doesn't change his philosophies. He's also a lazy recruiter, which is why he wants on here at LSU, thinking he can just squeak by with easy pushes. I don't want his old lazy arse. His wife barely wants him.

It's not the same as when he was having success. Look at what Arkansas, Mississippi State, and Alabama have done since Auburn was on top. LSU has maintained it's position as well. This should be obvious, but you can disagree if you want.

So, his last couple of season (which is what I referenced) accounted for a 6 win dropoff. And, it wasn't going to get better with Tubberville at the helm.
You can disagree if you want. But, you might want to get an Auburn fan's opinion on the subject.

Chizik (more appropriately Malzahn and Cam Newton) have made the difference. To think that their position in this game has ANYTHING to do with Tubberville is crazy, IMO.
But, you are entitled to your opinion. Go ahead and believe Tubberville would be a good hire if you want.
