For a wide receiver group that had two coaches they sure looked like they lacked leadership. I hope Tee comes on board.

USC has been a disaster for years and that tells me the environment is toxic because it isn't talent and they've had talented coaches pass through.

Helton was 27-10 at USC entering this season.

If they can’t bounce back with Kilff Kingsbury at OC in 2019, then it is safe to say it was all because Helton won the lottery with Sam Darnold as QB in 2016 and 2017.

According to a tweet by Tyler Rash? Is there any other sauce than that?

Sounds like a plan. Open up the checkbook.

In terms of value to this program I think a Tee Martin would be the 3rd most valuable coach behind Aranda and Raymond.

For starters none of them but Jefferson showed up for offseason workouts with Joe after he arrived on campus.

Rohan Davey shined a light on the group a couple of weeks ago in an interview with Moscona. He basically said that they weren't taking things seriously. I blame that on the coaches.

That's interesting.

I thought there were numerous reports this past offseason that the WRs were all working out with Burrow.

GTFO. I blame it on the coaches too. Starting with the head one.

Yeah I find it odd that the coaches didn't have the WRs run some routes with the brand new QB.

I'm almost positive this is untrue, and if it isn't the coaches should have been all over the WR corp's asses.

Sullivan's title is Senior offensive assistant/passing game coordinator. That's pretty much co-oc.

It's just word salad so we don't have to admit to having two WR coaches.

Correct

Though Orgeron has mentioned Sullivan helps a lot with red zone offense. Yikes.

You blame the head coach? Why?

He can't make them practice can he?

That's why they call them voluntary workouts. They weren't mandatory but they were definitely needed. Justin Jefferson is the only one that had enough responsibility to show up and work with Joe. I don't care if you don't believe it or not. I find it hilarious that the two biggest negas in the thread are the two denying it. It simply doesn't fit your hate on E and O narrative.

Do you have a link that says Jefferson was the only one to show up? Because there are plenty of notes in articles from Fall camp and early in the season that say otherwise.

Oh I don't. You've provided nothing but your word, which is worth bupkis.

The only narrative it doesn't fit is yours that people bash the coaches just to do it.

LINK

quote:

Justin Jefferson says it all started during the summer.

When quarterback Joe Burrow transferred to LSU in May, three months before coach Ed Orgeron even declared him the starter, Burrow and the receiving corps began practicing almost immediately.

Jefferson and the other receivers spent every Saturday during the summer running routes and working to build a connection with their soon-to-be starting quarterback.
