I would be shocked if there's not a protected rivalry, and the only world where ours isn't Florida is if they don't put Florida in Georgia's pod/division for whatever asinine reason. I don't know if you've played out the potential scenarios, but not having a protected rivalry just doesn't work if you assume that you need to have Bama-AU, UGA-AU, Bama-Tenn, and UGA-UF play every year which you do. It's also widely believed that we'll be going to a 9 game conference schedule with pods which means we'll be playing conference mates a lot more often than we do now. Florida is one of the scary programs in the conference. Them being not great is in our best interests.

The SEC west wasn’t difficult enough since 2005? Who is scared? Why would we need to worry about playing them when they are good. What makes you think they WILL be great?
So you’re saying they should hire a good coach? Their last 2 whiffs have been fun to watch and at the time everyone believed that coaches like Jim Mc and Elmer Fudd would dominated considering their domination at other programs including the SEC.

Well he was the WR coach at bama for some absolute stud WR classes, including the class with jeudy/smith/ruggs. He's also recruited consistently at the top of the sun belt while at UL.
How much all of that means to you is up to you, but he definitely has both on-paper recruiting success and a reputation as a good recruiter.
ETA:
UL had the 5th ranked recruiting class in the Sun Belt the cycle before Napier took over, and since then has had back-to-back-to-back #1 classes in the conference.

With Texas & OU coming onto the conference, there will realignment in some form or another. LSU playing Fla. every year probably won't be happening, so no reason to be concerned who Fla. hires.

While I like Napier if I was AD at Florida Napier wouldn't be my first, second or third choice. Florida has hired guys similar to Napier in the past and what separates Napier from all the former Saban assistants that have flopped? I'd go after Kiffin first.

No coach from a Group of 5 scares me... We've seen this storyline a million times over the last 10 years. People drool over the next hot/upcoming G5 coach and they flame out in 3 or 4 years. Norvell, Fuente, Butch Jones, Herman, Frost, Dooley, etc...
