OU was a blue blood program before they started crowning champions on the field. Nebraska used to be to. The times they are a changing.

So he does dominate the big 12, but also it is validation for LSU that we are a top program who can get pretty much any coach we want.

What has Ryan Day done that Riley hasn’t?

This is Ryan Days 3rd year.
He is 33-3.
He is yet to lose a conference game.
He has won the conference every year.
He has made the playoffs every year.

Their facilities aren’t in the same class with a lot of top programs. In-state recruiting in Oklahoma is limited and split between two P5 programs. They do recruit pretty well nationally, but not having a great in-state base to rely on makes it harder and keeps the budget from going further than a place like LSU, where you can build a top 10 class just locking down the state.

Big 12 tougher than big 10 in recent years.

The beauty of this is that if Riley ends up telling LSU no, then you will all be posting about how you didn't want him anyway

How has he not dominated the Big 12? He has been to the Big 12 what Bama is to the SEC.

That being said, he's soft as frick and coaches that into his teams. If LSU does grab him, he's going to bring that same soft mentality. We'll be what Texas A&M has been a perineal 2-3 loss team. we'll live on the edge of greatness, but never quite make it there.

We'll just have to make up our minds in 5 or 7 years if we can live with that. Time will certainly tell.

At least it is exciting enough of a hire to keep me engaged and donating as a smaller time booster.

The sour grapes pouring out of Norman is what’s telling me this is a home run hire.

You said he didn’t dominate and I’m saying he did. He’s a big name. Bigger than Ryan Day was when you hired him. LSU fans should be excited if they land him.

Have you ever looked at the histories of Saban, Miles and Orgeron before they took the LSU job? LSU is an 800 lb gorilla with a chainsaw for a penis. All we need is a triple digit iq coach to start the saw.

There was once a fascination with Tom Herman too.

Saban didn’t do anything until he went to LSU… what’s your point?

dominate one of the weaker power 5 conferences in the country, and he hasn't.

He’s won the Big 12 every year he’s been HC, made the CFP in 3/4 of those, coached 2 Heisman winning QBs, and could still win championships this season.

Can you name a single coach not named Saban or Dabo that’s done more since 2017?

Name one blue blood coach other than Saban and Dabo who has done more.

3 playoff appearances in 5 seasons. Conference championships. Heisman’s. Overall record. You can’t.

Do you honestly think it would be any different if it was Ohio State persueing a top power 5 coach? I think not.
