Winning Coach of the Year 3/5 seasons in the Big XII as coach of ISU is a big deal. Consider all of the top programs and big time coaches to win 3/5 times is crazy.
That speaks to how respected he is and how impressive it is to win at ISU.

I declare that he’s an offensive guy that somehow gets credit for his great defenses when his offense is not impressive. I also declare that we do not want him. Move on…

He was a DL in college but coached as an OL coach and OC before becoming a HC.
He's had multiple 1k rushers and his QB consistently completes better than 65% of his passes.
Perhaps he uses a ball control offense to slow down the explosive Big XII offenses and having knowledge of offense and defense isn't a bad thing.

How do you know what the man is interested in
I despise people who speak in absolutes that are ignorant to the topic

Post his rankings verses ISU's historic rankings.
2022: No 27 (Ole Miss is 30)
2021: No 59 (WF was 66)
2020: No 46 (Michigan State 44)
2019: No. 46 (Utah 42)
Before Campbell:
55, 64, 59, 63
Looks like the dude can recruit just fine.

I posted proof that he can. Where is your proof that he can't. If your idea of proof is recruiting rankings compared to SEC schools don't bother. Post his rankings verses ISU's historic rankings.
Per 247 his 6 full classes have been 55,52,55,46,46, and 59. In those 6 years there have been a total of 16 4 star recruits in the state of Iowa, zero 5 stars, he has signed 1. He cant even lock down the little talent that is in state.
I understand that Recruiting to a place like ISU is tough, but is also tough for schools like KSU, Iowa, Neb, and Minn all schools from bordering states than face similar issues. All are out recruiting him, and he is losing recruiting battles for theses kids too. Wisconsin also is in a bordering state and has taken a couple, but I think they swing a bigger stick when it comes to recruiting than those schools.
Also he cant beat his biggest rival! 0-5 vs Iowa. But hey its Monday and we need a new flavor of the week
FYI, to be fair Paul Rhoads who he replaced. Classes were as follows. 72,68,59,67,63,59,and 64. Campbell classes are better but not drastically. Also Rhoads signed the top player in the state twice! Matts still is trying to accomplish that.

How did Chizik recruit at IowaSt? Too lazy to go look for it myself
Posted on 11/8/21 at 10:07 am to JPLSU1981
That was more than a decade ago. It's not relevant. I can tell you that Miles had some really good classes around that time. You want to hire him?

I think you’re reading too much into my question…I’m just curious what kind of classes Chizik pulled in at IowaSt for reference
I’m making no point or statement about Campbell’s IowaSt recruiting whatsoever, just curious
There’s no hidden point I’m trying to make here…just trying to get a better feel for the recruiting ceiling at IowaSt

Why would you leave out 16, 17, and 18? He was hired in 15 so that class is shared with him and Rhoades. But 16,17,and 18 are all his. So it appears You tried to skew the info to make your point! Shame on you! Nah he cant recruit the facts are in my post. Also 22 isn't over yet check back in December. When some kids have actually signed.

I didn't do 16,17 and 18 for the same reason you didn't. I don't want to.

Played Dline 25 years ago but has never coached defense. Got it! Runs a vanilla offense. Again WE do not want!

Campbell is very unlikely to leave ISU.
To answer your recruiting question he does the best job of finding 2 and 3 stars that are really 3 or 4 stars. He also develops players better than most.
This year's class is currently 27th. Most of his classes have been just outside of the top 50.
