I can't even imagine being at Ole Miss at this point

It's one thing to be at LSU and wonder if we get Kiffin, Dillingham, or someone else.
It's gotta be a completely different level of stress being an Ole Miss staffer/exec wondering if you're going to have a job next year, what players and coaches you retain, who you'll replace Lane with, etc.

This whole thing is so crazy to me. From the beginning I assumed this was sexton trying to get kiffin a raise. I never got my hopes up like UF fans were doing.
But now it’s gotten to the point where I think he almost has to leave.

That game was the most hard hitting game I ever saw; 2003 LSU v. Ole Miss. Both these teams wanted that game so bad, and without LSU winning, we don't win the title that year.

Lane has pissed enough people off at Ole Miss over the last week it has preemptively softened the blow of his inevitable departure.
Sure they want him to stay overall, but it's not the end of the world. Ole Miss has good support from NIL to president/AD - they will be fine.
