Florida doesn't have a state income tax either, so the lsu final offer would probably have to exceed the FSU final offer.

Absolutely he would and should be the first call. His offense is much better than what we have. Once he had time to get talent on that fsu defense, they have hit their stride.

FSU has been more talented than LSU for 2 decades. Let me guess, you think he took over a team without talent? Just go back and look at the recruiting rankings.

I don't think he's afraid but he's got a good thing going in Tallahassee, why leave it for a similar job in a tougher conference within the toughest division of said conference?

It's not like he's unable to win championships and compete on big stages where he's at. But hey maybe BR does hold a special place in his heart, you make the call but I just don't see him taking the job

Keep that shite away from LSU. Give me Les Mother fricking Miles all day, every day and twice on Sundays.

Did you even read the OP? I don't want Miles to go anywhere either but this is hypothetically speaking.

Jimbo is the best coach we could realistically get IMO.

I really don't want Les to go, he is a decent QB away from a serious national title run in 15 and 16.

with les, that's pretty much always the "if"

once saban's guys left, we've had one year where it wasn't an issue

Even if you were promised we would get Jimbo? So you wouldnt take a 49 year old coach who has 2 conference titles 1 national title, and is currently 12-0 over a 61 year old head coach who has 2 conference titles, 1 national title, who is currently 8-4?

He still has more access to NFL talent then he would in LA.

Several coaches go into Florida every year and steal players. Hell, we do it now and Jimbo could continue to do it with his ties to the area.

Meanwhile, since Saban/Miles have been at LSU, we get nearly every instate recruit we want. Jimbo could continue that.

Ok, why is LSU a better Job?

Believe it or not, playing in the SEC helps make it a better job even though we don't get to sleepwalk to 10 wins a year like they do.

BTW, since this is just a HYPOTHETICAL that "Les takes the Michigan job" (some posters seem oblivious to this).

I'd call Patterson first. If they get squeezed out of the playoffs this weekend (remember Baylor beat them), then maybe he rethinks.

Jimbo would be 2nd
RR 3rd

I don't have a 4th, LSU job isn't open, that's just IMO off the top of my head.

Well yea sure.. I would take that trade (though it's close).. but nothing is promised. I think he would come but I wouldn't be shocked if he stayed. The OP was asking if Miles left who would be the first call.

How much do phone calls cost nowadays?

Hey agent, LSU has an opening for HC Football, is your client interested?

No? Okay thanks.

You don't think UM is going to at least call Harbaugh's agent?!?

Here is the deal IMO. Michigan is a plum job but HS players don't want to go there because of weather and academics conditions... They will NEVER get the players the once did... I know OSU does it somehow... It would take the PERFECT coach to bring UM back to where they once were...... And that coach is Harbaugh...

Miles has it made here and will retire here... Why would he leave on his own????

He was never a hc before he got hired at fsu. So you are admitting that our higher ups are the idiots and not FSU. They took a chance on the guy while we wouldnt. So let me ask the question again, why would these same idiots make a good hire now? they obviously made a bad one with Les according to this board.
