the white whale of potential Mississippi State coaching searches is off the board.

Crazy how this guy's career path has turned, he was making over $1 million/year at UL with his name being mentioned for some fairly big name jobs not all that long ago. From that to being a high school coach.

Tell me the back story here. I played golf with him this summer and didn’t know who he was until the 7th hole. Very cool guy but sucked at golf.

One of my friends was a big part of pulling him to Gulf Shores. Supposedly he will be more than the head football coach and will have a hand in on the entire athletic department. Gulf Shores broke away from the county school system a year or so ago and are privately funded. All chips are pushed in on improving the program.

In the middle of this summer, he abruptly announced that he was resigning as head coach of Austin Peay to spend more time with his family.

quote:

A public records request, however, found that Hudspeth had been suspended by Austin Peay at the time of his resignation for his "recent unacceptable conduct" and for violating terms of his contract involving "egregious personal conduct" and "conduct that is clearly contrary to the character and responsibilities" of the position.

ETA - When did you play golf? He got the boot on July 3rd.

Allegedly he was caught banging a cheerleader at AP.

This after divorcing his wife and marrying a very recent former UNA cheerleader while coaching at UNA, allegedly

September at Kiva Dunes. If he was keeping score he would have posted about a 130. He sucked.
